The Sean picture I used was the only picture of Sean that I own, and I didn't want to make it too small because I think it would have looked a little stupid to put such a small picture right in the front. And Jake and Scout are in the back and very small because I will need the room in the middle of the picture for writing the winner in it....but apart from that, there's no real reason

lol hurry up then! i've only got 5 or so, and only a couple of categories have enough, so i need people to mail me soon.

if you don't read any that often, or haven't for a while, then go now! there are some really great fics out there and i need your nominations! please please please start reading and nominating - there's still a few days left!

well i just got home and found 3 more e-mails with nominations waiting for me - yay!
there are more categories now with enough nominations for at least two fics.
but i still have a couple that don't, so more nominations would be very much appreciated.

So, regarding the case where not enough nominations aren't received, what are we going to do?

No, Orton, I think what Nicky wanted to say was that if no story gets enough nominations in a category, this category will become void, i.e. we won't have a winner. But as far as I can tell, this is not going to happen in many categories....right, Troy?

No Anja , I wasn't asking what Nicky was saying, I was talking about something else.

Just say if a story got 2 votes, but you need 3 for it to be nominated but not enough people nominated for that story which is in a certain category and all the other stories that have been nominated got 1 vote, would it go through or not??

Orton and Anja, you're talking about the same thing.

The way I see it, the rules (3 nominations to go through) shouldn't be bent for certain stories just because no stories got three nominations in their category. It should be an objective standard, not relative on other nominations.

If a story gets two nominations, it doesn't get through to the voting stage, it should be that simple. If in one category, a lot of fics get two nominations but none gets three, then I still think the category should be void, instead of saying, "Oh, let's just bend the rules and put the fics with two nominations up for voting", because to me that's not fair on other stories in other categories who managed to get 3 nominations.

But Orton, careful with what you say with 'votes' and 'nominations', because they mean different things and may be what's confusing you. It goes like this:

Nomination period May 1 to May 16:
A story needs 3 nominations to make it onto the list of nominees. If a category doesn't get three nominations for any one story, the category is void. If only one story gets three or more nominations in a category, it becomes the automatic winner.

Voting period May 17 to ??
There is a list of nominees (probably two or three fics in each category) that people vote for. And it doesn't matter how many votes are counted, the fic with the most votes win in each category.

can i just say, that with what Nicky just said, there's only 3 categories eligible for voting on. i have one category with 7 different single nominations! so unless i get a lod of nominations in really quickly, there isn't going to be much voting going on at all...........
