Hi everyone! I couldn't find anything on posting new threads anywhere, so I hope it's okay that I'm starting one and that I don't have to have a certain amount of posts for that or anything. Also, I browsed back and I couldn't see a thread like this, but If I'm wrong please bring it to my attention and I'll move this post there and kill this thread.

I thought it would be nice to start a post on the projects we would want to see our favourite YA actors in. As in what do we think would be the ideal project for them.

I'll start: I'd really like to see Kate Moenning in something more feminine and conventional. While I really love her gender-bending roles, and I think her ability to make them work is why she's such a great actress, I would really like to see her in something more... Usual. I know she said that's exactly what she doesn't want - romantic comedies and stuff - but I think it's important to branch out a bit and widen your niche a little, and it will also help her get to a wider audience. I want to see her as something like Eliza Bennet from Pride and Prejudice, or maybe a fantasy of sorts, like Stardust. I also think she would be really good in movies like Girl Interrupted, it would really bring her dramatic skills for good use (and if you've seen Fallacy you know she has them). You can't play a lesbian/crossgender for the rest of your life. It would be a waste.

Other then that, I would really like to see the actress that played Lena. She was sweet....

Lil, I agree. I'd love to see Kate in something a little more conventional. She has said herself that she'd like try something different, in one of her Q/A segments earlier this year:

I would love to see Kate in a period project. I think that she would be great as a repressed 50`s housewife or a 70`s feminst.

A repressed 50's house-wife? That would be interesting! And it would be nice to see her in those kind of clothes

Though I can't really see her playing "repressed". What sort of film did you have in mind, exactly? Just so I'd get the general idea.

I don`t know really know since i haven`t seen that much movies with repressed 50`s housewives. The closest movie i can think of is Mona Lisa Smile. I like to see Kate do a project like that.

Maybe Kate and Ian should do Romeo and Juliet together?

though I'd rather they do something that ends less tragically. I still say she should do Pride and Prejudice - maybe Ian could play Mr. Darcy?

Seeing her in a Mona Lisa type movie could be awesome, though. She would look so pretty in the clothes, too! And maybe something similiar to Ten Things I Hate About You? That could be cute...

I completely agree about Kate. I love the roles she plays, but I'd really love to see her in something else, something "normal".

I have massive love for Mark Famiglietti, so I'd just love to see him in something again, in general.

But I really think he'd be a great lead in a romantic comedy, or something.

And I would love to see Lena (Naomi Kline) again, too...

Mark? I didn't see him in anything else, but didn't he play a lawyer somewhere? He's cute, the only problem is that he's so short, they'll have to find a short leading actress... but it'll be like Richard Geer and Julia Roberts - Geer wore platforms the whole movie...

or Patric Sweezi (sp?) in Dirty Dancing (he was so hot

) where they picked short actors so he'll look tall...

Mark has done some tv guest appearances and some (small) roles in movies, but it was mostly crime stuff, I think. I want him in something happy and fun. He's so charming, he could totally pull that off.

^Yes, I can totally see him pulling off a chick flick - romantic comedy type film.
I know I read somewhere that he was in the movie Premonition which starred Sandra Bullock.

Katherine : thank you. i haven't spoken to anyone from y.a. in a long time. it's usually through a friend that we send messages to one another. as for ian and i working together. i wouldn't be surprised, it's such a small business. i'm sure at some point our paths will cross.
