I totally agree. The show changed the characters/their relationships around a bit, and it totally improved through that. There are many more possibilities to tell stories, and find relationships between the characters. Plus, Jeremy!

Flash Forward is awesome. I'm on episode 4 right now, and it's so addictive! It's not being compared to Lost without any reason. I cannot wait to see Mark on the show.

I'm always surprised when people actually know YA. So many people have apparently watched it/heard of it when it aired, and yet it was cancelled. Makes me feel so sad.

About Gossip Girl, I agree that a whole bunch of people cant be that rich and beautiful but then again when was the last time there was an un-beautiful person in a tv show? I mean, not all high school kids look gorgoeus like the ones on One Tree Hill or the OC, even Ugly Betty is kinda pretty thats just television for you, no one would watch if Gossip Girl didnt have a pretty cast cause lets face it, its not the plot twists or the intellegent dialouge that keeps me watching
Im not sure how much of GoGi youve watched but characters that may have seemed shallow at first like Chuck actually turn out to have actual problems and become more human, at least for me that is, I find myself wanting to hug him most episodes

Its amazing how many people know YA, all around FF a load of people have seen it, makes me sad too, thinking about the what ifs

aaand he spoke to me again Anja, this time for longer and not to ask me for anything but we kinda just poked fun at eachother for a while

Ugly Betty has been remade in so many countries worldwide and a bunch of them have been shown here on network tv. Most Bettys are really gorgeous actresses/models "uglified" to fit the bill. However, my mother said, "the American version cast a real one". My mom is a bit thin on the tact trait.

I'm really liking The Big Bang Theory now. We did a one-sitting viewing of season 1 and 2 and fell in love with the show. I'm surprised it's only after season 2 that Jim Parsons has been recognized for an Emmy. Dialogue delivery alone merits an Emmy given all those long-winded scientific terminologies I'm guessing none of them truly understand.

I also like Psych but in the middle of last season the writers thought it would be better to make Shawn a bit more mature. It's not working and it's weirding me out.

And about the "what ifs" -- I'd like to think that this rush of shows like GoGi, The OC, 90210, Privilege, even maybe The Hills are the product of YA's popularity. I've heard a long time ago that ABC and MTV were thinking of taking on YA after its summer run. I'm guessing the price was not right so the interested networks just developed their own versions (which was probably cheaper) hence the influx of "rich and beautiful kids frolicking in their designer duds" dramas.

The Big Bang Theory is amazing. I gotta admit, I'm still a little heartbroken Jim Parsons didn't win an Emmy this year.

What a coincidence, I just started watching Psych last night! I've only seen the pilot so far, but it's hilarious and kinda cute. I'll definitely keep watching!

You're having a party because I'm leaving?

I know Germany remade Ugly Betty as a telenovela which was very successful here. When the original Ugly Betty started airing here, people were all "omg they totally stole the story from our German show!" Nobody watched it, so it was cancelled again after two weeks Germany made their own "Lost" as well, though it was really just a bunch of people stranded on a regular island. It was also pretty crap, and luckily cancelled.

They remake a looooad of movies here but not a lot of tv shows, so this Lost thing should be interesting, ... to make fun of

The original Ugly Betty is from Colombia. She was portrayed by Ana Maria Orozco who is an actress/model. In the original story, the boss used intelligent but ugly Betty to further his business ambition then fell in love with her (despite her looks). Ugly Betty was later transformed (haircut, eyebrows plucked, new glasses and clothes, braces removed). Pretty much a Cinderella story like any other telenovela.

We also have a Philippine version but it pretty much follows the American version except in the part where the boss falls for Betty. I don't think the American boss will fall for their Betty because the story so far does not seem to flow that way.

I'd probably personally picket the local network if they even attempt to make a Philippine version of Lost. I hate it when people don't have an original idea and just jump on the bandwagon of someone else's.

Psych is about a guy with a talent for keen observation. His talent was nurtured by his police officer dad (played by Corbin Bernsen of LA Law fame). It's like The Mentalist except Psych is a comedy and they show what Shawn (James Roday) saw to make his conclusions. James Roday is funny and ridiculous while his best friend Burton 'Gus' Guster (played by Dulé Hill of West Wing) is a serious, nerdy guy. Shawn uses his talents to solve crimes for the Santa Barbara PD by pretending to be a psychic. They call their pretend psychic detective agency Psych.

My sister and I like making fun of copycat films and tv shows especially when they're poorly done and the acting is bad (while the actors think "they're all that"). There's an actor here who seem to think he's God's gift to women. He had a movie poster in the street corner that my sister and I lambasted every time we saw it. He thinks he's macho and sexy but in reality he looked like an old oak barrel.

I would have liked to see Betty and Daniel together judging by the beginning of the show but I think the writer himself said that thats not going to happen and that they're more like siblings than romance material.

They were going to dub the original Lost and then show it but then I suppose they realized how much theyd have to censor, I mean most of Sawyers back story would go, as would the doubt behind Suns pregnancy, Claires ex-boyfriend would turn into her husband so they might have to cut that entire back story too, Jacks dad cant be Claires dad, affairs are cut in Iran, aaand Shannon never dresses appropriately so she'd have to go too, my dad and I came up with a load of other storylines theyd cut and it would be just be ridiculous so thats why they decided to make their own and for that Im glad really, can you imagine if anything would have been left of the show?

Hmm Psych sounds interesting, Ill have to check it out

Oh I know a loooot about thos kinda actors, we have many of them here

I think Ugly Betty totally lost the essence in the American version because as telenovelas go Cinderella is a staple.

There really isn't going to be anything left if it was cut. As the actors and writers say, the characters are all flawed human beings brought to the island for one reason or another -- most viewers think to repent for their past. That's why purgatory was one of the theories going around as to what is the secret of the island. There's alcoholism with Jack and his dad, Sawyer's and Kate's criminal pasts along with con games that involve infidelity same with Sun and Jack's dad, Hurley's gambling, Charlie's drug abuse, Boone's and Shannon's incest, Ecko's drug dealing, Jin's mob ties, Sayid's treason, Claire's pre-marital pregnancy, etc.

The only thing that will be left is Bernard and Rose's story and maybe Michael and Walt's. I'm all for cutting out Shannon though.

I am back! Sorry for being gone a day longer than I initially planned, but I had to catch up on sleep and uni work yesterday and was too busy to check FF.

The cut version of Lost might be even more confusing than the original one!

Singstar sounds fun. We did karaoke this week and it was four hours of mayhem.

You're too nice! I've been procrastinating on a week's worth of paperwork and I'm two weeks behind. I have to trick myself with an incentive system to get the job done. I do one day's worth in exchange for an episode of YA. I'm running out of episodes.

Maybe I should influence you to be my procrastinating buddy.
