Ah well then A majority of people I know that watch it and loved it really don't care for it anymore, myself included but then I wonder if maybe I'm just too old for it or sth?

Yeah, it is better. and I do think that apart from a few, people are really over TVD.

I don't think thats necessarily the case, I mean sure a lot of fans are unhappy with it and the ratings arent what it used to be but it's still highest amongst the CW's shows, I just checked and it has a rating of 1.61 which is higher than all the others including Supernatural and Arrow so I don't think it's going anywhere anytime soon

Yeah, that was the same impression I had. A lot of people that loved it don't seem to anymore nowadays. But then you can say the same about shows like SPN and they're still on the air and popular as well, so

Yeah, a lot of people still watch both, but with varying degrees of disappointment, mainly for their idols or ships, not for the show itself.

I think that might have been one of the main reasons why I stopped watching when I did. The story was meh, and the OTPs/characters I was rooting for were not really there anymore or didn't have a whole lot of interesting things to do and instead there were all these new characters I really couldn't have cared less about

Urgh I finally watched the midseason finale and omg the Delena break up was so stupid? I feel like they gave up on actually thinking about the storyline a long time ago. My sister and I were real sad to say goodbye to Silas, he was great

the breakup made no sense Damon struggles to get her, for several seasons, madly and desperately and then, hey, you'd better go.

I think the problem with couples on shows is that, once they're actually together, writers are usually too lazy to give them proper storylines, so they'd rather just recycle all the usual breaking up/angst/getting back together stories over and over again. It's so annoying.
