Jake is cute, whether as a boy or a girl. I mean, I can see what Ham saw in her, but I can totally see what Lena saw in her, too.

Ditto, Lil.

(Ya know I've heard 'Ditto-usage' before, but after YA all I can of it as is a Jake-ism)

OK, so I just watched the episode, and I will try and fit all my excitement in one post! (yeah! try )

OK first off: How amazing is Sean? OK, this might be slightly influenced by the fact that I loved Matt in Gilmore Girls and its great to see that unlike Ian Somerhalder and Lost his appearance hasnt changed much since YA. And his character is amazing as always Will is an a$$, hes not as whiny about being poor in this one though which is good.

Why on earth does he blame every single thing on poor Scout? I mean seriousley its very nice to make mistakes and then blame both your best freinds, you only got in this mess cause you decided not to tell the truth and I still believe the main reason is cause he was afraid his two lives would clash not that he would fail.

Bella, I still dont like, shes mean and just not a very likable character in my opinion and I still have a very hard time believing her and Scout had this huge epic romance after a couple of days together.

Finn is creepy, I just dont like him which reminds me of another character I dont like Bellas dad, I noticed this after watching the 'previously' part and he didnt really do a good acting job whilst telling Scout about Bella.

And we reach Jake and Hamilton, they are just so adorable, I love Jakes hair in this episode, not really liking Hamiltons. and when he grabs her hand as she walks away is just I need to find icons from that scene after Im done with my current icon.

and his explanation about not being gay, yeah right, we believe you honey.

I also like the theme song but not really the opening credits and I honestly think that with a better name we could have had more fans therefor resulting in more seasons. Young Americans sounds like a soap opera.

I wasn't sure if Sean was meant to be a ''good guy'' on my first viewing of the series, just because of how gruff he is with Will, but then you start to think it's nice that for once someone isn't handling Will with kid gloves, and is being honest with him.

Finn is creepy. Plus I don't dig his hair.

Jake coming down the stairs with the leather jacket and the perfectly styled boy-hair...seriously crush-worthy.

Young Americans sounds like it's a show about twenty-something yuppies. Totally agree.

I think he was perfectly good guy, he was honest, he gave Will the confidence he so clearly lacked and he even forgave him much sooner than I would have.

Ditto Finns hair.

That was so cool, and the comment Hamilton made about her outfit, she was so excited they were gonna go Mission Impossible.

What would you have named the series though?

I agree completely. It's Will's fault he's in that mess. He's lucky that he has two awesome best friends who forgive him.

I think there were icons of that somewhere. I remember I used one like that on LJ for quite a while. I'll take a look around if I can find it again.

I loved Ham's explanation about how he wasn't gay - nobody believed him. Poor confused Ham. *pets*

I actually think the opening credits are good the way they are, but I agree, YA might've not been the best name. Here in Germany they called it "Rawley High", and while the school is actually called Rawley Academy, I thought it had a ring to it.

I think the Opening credits sort of reminded me of Dawsons Creek season one which kind of made sense seeing as its sort of a spinoff, but

I would love that, that scene is just awesome, Im gonna try my luck at making icons once Ive seen all 8.

I remember a post with a ton of bases somewhere on LiveJournal...
whosaiditsover: 87 icons/bases

Hmm, as for the name of the show, I'm not quite sure. But I think something to do with Rawley Academy or New Rawley would be good. I would've hated it if Will's name was in the title somehow (like Dawson's Creek, no offense to DC fans of course).

And ha, I never realized that the opening credits were similar to DC, but they totally are. Weird. But I like the Getaway People's track way more than that Paula Cole tune.

I like all three theme songs (2 DC, one YA ) some of the best Ive ever heard, I really liked DCs theme song during the first season, I could not get the whole 'hey hey hey hey' out of my head for a very long time .

I dont like it when theres a name in the title it focuses more on the character and Dawson like Will wasnt a very likable character in my opinion, and the show wasnt that centered around him or his creek in the later season.

Thanks for the link, LJs filtered for now Ill check it out as soon as I find a new proxy that works.

Yeah having Rawley in the title would have been cool, would have drawn more fans I think.

I'm not a big DC fan, but I have seen quite a few of them, mostly the early ones and I totally agree. Dawson wasn't really likeable. I don't like the way James-whats-his-name talks. He just has this certain way of speaking that makes me want to punch him in the neck. Plus, early-Dawson's hair was quite...unfortunate.

ITA about Dawsons hair. The storys and the dialouge were very great but I think they all wasted them with creating such an annoying and boring main character. I just cant stand Dawson.

I never liked the whole Joey-wants-Dawson-thing. If I were her I'd never go for plain, ol' white bread Dawson. As for Dawson, what was so attractive about Jen? Seriously, the actress is pretty, but in the series, she just looked rather dull to me. I don't know, I think Joey had more going on.

On the other hand, though, I prefer Will over Dawson.

Also, I find it somewhat amusing we're talking about DC in this thread, but ah well.

I never got it either, I mean it really shouldnt be hard to pick between a guy whos charming and fun and someone boring who pretty much makes her miserable, they were good friends and all this really spoiled it.

Jen was OK, nothing amazing the way youd imagine cause the boys were all going gaga for her.

Im gonna have to watch all 8 episodes before making my choice, right now theyre kind of even.

Yeah,

All this DC talk made me go watch clips on YouTube...man, it's been such a long time since I've seen it. I have to go check local listings to see what channel reruns air on.
