Neat. Now you'll get to comment on the utter cuteness of Sean.

Woohoo! Yay for you getting all the episodes, Sheida. I should re-watch the episodes too and join in the discussion.

I pulled out my tape today. Unfortunately the picture quality is terrible.
This time Will really struck me as rather "poor me, I'm poor and have an abusive father, so I'm entitled to do whatever it takes to get out of that environment". If the overall story wasn't being told from his point of view, I'm not sure that I'd find him a sympathetic character at all. Didn't remember noticing so much chemistry between Scout & Bella before. It struck me as odd that she was so ... open with him right from the start. I mean telling a guy you've barely met that you wonder if he's the one you'll spend the rest of your life with? It seemed over the top to me. Jake & Hamilton are awesome right from the moment he first sees her. Then when she kisses him on the roof ... His "oh my God, I think I'm gay" ... that he realizes the attraction and is willing to consider that option says so much about him. __________________

Im not sure I really sympathize with will either, he just comes off as the annoying type to me, he's poor, therefor he's justified to do anything and whenever something goes wrong it seems like its always someone else's fault
As for Scout and Bella, I found it very very hard to believe a guy wont go running for his life if he ever heard a girl say she wants to spend the rest of her life with him on the first date Aww Jahammer "I think I'm gay" such a cute line __________________

I think Will would have been a more sympathetic character if he had been a supporting player(I have to say Ryder would've been a more interesting lead character. I mean snotty British kid who's used to big cities gets himself shipped off to a little podunk town and he's intent on creating mischief for his own entertainment and we follow him as he slowly figures his way through the class distinction and such while he gets himself into rough spot after rough spot)
As for Scout and Bella, I think when we're fifteen we often mistake puppy-love for real, epic, serious love. So I can kinda get why they'd think so much of this thing between them in a way. |
