Oh sure. Variation is necessary. Particularly for something as complex as the X-Men. But there's no reason not to have a Rogue/Gambit romance that I can see (unless like me, you have very little time for Gambit ), so give the people what they want.

Easiest problem about being able to look like anyone. So money issues is never a problem. Unless she meant Jen should get that play to play Mystique again. because you know FOX is gonna want her for more future films. Whether it be solo films or in a team film.
