She went to the premiere of The Place Beyond the Pines at TIFF in 2012, for Bradley Cooper. But that one doesn't really count, since they were both there for Silver Linings anyway.

No, it would seem Jen is doing a little campaigning for Emma... which probably means Natalie Portman and Annette Benning can cancel their bulk orders of statuette polish.

Jennifer Lawrence to Team With Ron Howard for Zelda Fitzgerald Biopic

Funny. I was just reading about Zelda last week. Never knew she was a talented writer, too. I like this but I'd like it better with a more imaginative director. Howard is sometimes very good but never great IMO.

First thing I thought of was Midnight in Paris, which featured the Fitzgeralds, and which Lawrence loved.

As to Howard: He's always been hit or miss for me (the Dan Brown stuff in particular, is all miss), but he's a perfectly capable filmmaker, and he always provides room for his actors to turn in stellar performances. I've never failed to be stunned by how 'on' DeNiro is in Backdraft for instance.

For the record, here's the Ron Howard flicks I'd rate:

Rush
Frost/Nixon
Apollo 13
The Paper
Backdraft
Night Shift

If he manages to find form on this one (assuming he decides to direct), then we should end up with a quality flick. If not, then we can at least expect a professional production, and a compelling performance from our girl.
