I think it's a compliment to her, but a criticism of the film.

The point seems to be that what they have is a bunch of footage that they've gone ahead and written copy for to turn it into some kind of narrative, but that ultimately the seams are visible.

Lawrence does her job well, and the footage is gorgeous, but there isn't really any tale to tell, or progression to view. Just a lot of pretty pictures, and Jennifer Lawrence acting as tour guide.

And it seems Jen didn't end up going to the Met Gala. I guess she had more important things and stayed home the Pipster. Or with me.
