Haymitch's Hunger Games wasn't on Francis Lawrence's list of things that were excised for the movie, so it could well be there.

It would be nice to see it, and it certainly adds texture, particularly to Haymitch, particularly when we consider what happens to his family in the wake of what he does, but it might play as too tangential in a movie, and the story could still function without it.

I have a sneaking suspicion that maybe we won't see it, but instead be told about it. Maybe they've engineered a scenario where Haymitch, trying to make Katniss understand how far the Capitol will go to not let it appear that she beat them, just tells her what happened. It would certainly afford a pretty powerful acting opportunity for Woody, and that's no bad thing.

I don't know obviously, I'm just thinkin' out loud really...
