i think Haymitch found some inner peace and a bit of redemption in helping Katniss along the way. i hope he is happy somewhere in D12...and only drinks now in social moderation.

it's ironic that they both used the force field to their advantage in the games.

he used it to trick his pursuers into inadvertently jumping into the force field, and she used it to send a message to snow, and expose the weakness of the Capitol, if only for a short time. even though the Capitol covered up the whole episode and bombed D12 into oblivion, it still kept the spark alive in the simmering rebellion behind the scenes.
