I last watched Silver Linings Playbook about a week or so go. I just adore that movie so freaking much. And Jen is just beyond great! I've seen it like 11 times already! The one i have as my avatar is one of my faves of her.

As to Joy's Oscar eligibility: I wouldn't concern myself with that Dec 25th release date. That's the wide release, but make no mistake Davis Entertainment, and Fox 2000 intend to produce an Oscar contender. The film's release strategy will ensure that it's eligible.

I am a little concerned about Jen's chances now, though. While I have no trouble believing that a nomination could come her way, I worry that recent events might damage her chances of winning. Despite the Academy's recent attempts to infuse their ranks with fresh young inductees, they are still largely made up of old white dudes, who may not look favourably on Jen's present headaches.

Of course, I could be wrong, and it'll be a full year from now anyway, so it might not even matter at all by that stage.

If I'm honest though, it's David that I really want to see make a good run of it this time. He's been doing consistently superb work for years, and has only ever been an also ran. I think the humour that his movies generally contain has a tendency to make people dismiss them as lighter fare, which is a shame, and I hope he manages to convince them otherwise this time out.

Joy, is a real life drama about a woman who succeeds against all the odds. It's a truly American story, featuring perhaps America's best young actress (and still sweetheart). That's all the hallmarks of an Oscar contender. This might be the one that does it for him. Assuming the flick is up to snuff.

There will always be people attacking her. Just being famous will do that. But her words have been received positively by the majority.

Just be aware that the most people will read this story, say; 'good for her', and move on. A few will post messages to that effect in the comments section, but largely that will be a place for those whom she's annoyed. So expect bile, half baked misogyny, and a frustrated few fighting against it.

I admit, I did a little bit of that on US Magazine's site, where I found myself supported in my endeavor. As time passes the crazies will take over completely as the rest of us will move on, but she'll be fine and the world will show her respect and love by the metric ton.

People are just such jerks plain and simple. I'm proud of her for saying what she wanted to say. It needed to be said. The part about her crying is heart breaking to me. And yet angry at all those people who did this to her!

Don't focus on the negative comments you might have read. Focus on how extraordinary she is.

I hope she knows how much support she has, and I hope she knows that there are those of us who have respected her privacy throughout this horrible affair, and will fight her corner forever.

Yep, why I'm such a fan of her for it.

I know not many actresses wouldn't address something like this. or At least so quickly. But Jen I'm sure was like i gotta address it and get it out there. And she just knocked it out the park!

I've just stopped reading the negative ones, and only focus on how amazing she is.

We are hear for her. Through the tough times and the good. And will respect and stick up for her til the very end. #WesupportyouJen

There's certainly not many who would come out all guns blazing like that.

She always says how she's nothing like the character she plays in The Hunger Games, and that's largely true, but today she showed herself to have every bit of Katniss Everdeens's strength and fire.


I want to point out that there have been SO many positive comments as well. She's getting a lot of praise for this. I'm just swelling with pride for her right now. Even more than when she won the Oscar.
