The scene in the book where she gives Katniss the pin is more meaningful than the Hob scene, but I did like the exchange between Prim and Katniss on it.

me too, but I think it was an acceptable change
 especially to have Prim give it to her instead It would have taken too long to add in something about her selling strawberries to her family and how they came to be friends... so the sister was easier |

I guess they did so it look like the sister were might closer and it established it better for people haven't read the book that they would giving each other the pin.
