Matthias Schoenaerts, Jeremy Irons Joining Jennifer Lawrence in 'Red Sparrow' (Exclusive)

Matthias Schoenaerts and Jeremy Irons have signed on to join Jennifer Lawrence in Red Sparrow.

The story, an adaptation of the Jason Matthews espionage novel, follows a Russian intelligence officer (Lawrence) who is ordered against her will to become a "Sparrow," a trained seductress, and to operate against a young CIA agent who handles the agency’s most important Russian mole. Joel Edgerton also is attached to star.

The Hunger Games helmer Francis Lawrence is reuniting with Jennifer Lawrence for the Chernin Entertainment and Fox film. Justin Haythe wrote the script.

Schoenaerts’ recent films include Tom Hooper's The Danish Girl and Luca Guadagnino's A Bigger Splash, and he will soon star in Netflix's Our Souls at Night with Robert Redford and Jane Fonda. He’s repped by CAA and UBBA in Paris.

Irons will soon be seen in video game adaptation Assassin’s Creed and Disney’s Their Finest. He also will reprise his role as Alfred in Warner Bros.’ Justice League. He’s repped by CAA.

Could be. It's hard to say though, this movie's production has been so vague.

Doubt it. I think the hair extensions are for Red Sparrow and Dominika will look like Jen does in the promo tour for Passengers.

Yeah I think the blonde hair is staying.

Not that I've read the book but the white jacket & skirt outfit from the press tour is the look I'm picturing for her character. Maybe because she gave off a sense of sexy confidence.

That's what I was thinking, and why she's gotten the extensions. If she was gin to dye her hair. she wouldn't have gotten the extensions. And it would likely have bene dyed by now.

after her superb acting and visually great looks in Passengers, i am excited for this film. i hope she continues with the indies, she always seems to be more animated and lively in them, tbh.

So she's wearing a wig for this film. I don't know why they feel that she had to be brunette like the books. It really doesn't effect the story or the character.

Hopefully, they eventually have Dominika cut and bleach her hair.

Also wondering if that's for the movie how she's dressed. Or just like that cause it's super cold? Though judging from the hat. It seems part of her characters wardrobe.

I don't know much about this. But with any other Jen project. I am very excited to see where it goes.

I agree. Her boots especially look like part of Dominika's costume. Her Passengers crew coat with the Homestead Corporation logo does not.
