I'm betting on the exact opposite of what we might expect. I say Jen comes away loving the process...

ETA: I read what you said on Tumblr about Aronofsky using rehearsals to experiment. How do film rehearsals work? Do they repeat work on one scene for days straight or run through the entire script in sequence many times? And does Aronofsky alter the script based upon what happened in rehearsal or just his staging and his direction of the actors? Last edited by sunworshipper; 02-09-2016 at 07:39 AM |

It's hard to know exactly how Aronofsky conducts rehearsals (there's only a few snippets of footage that I've seen), but they will make their way through the script one way or the other, though not necessarily in chronological order. As I understand it he likes to let things flow as organically as possible during rehearsals. Try out ideas. Get a little silly. See what shakes loose. In effect, he makes the movie three times. Once very loosely during rehearsals, once with greater control during shooting, and once again during editing. Aronofsky's certainly more controlled than someone like Russell, when he gets on set, but we'd do well not to confuse that with rigidity. Even during filming he'll shoot two or three takes of what they've rehearsed and then shoot two or three more that he just lets spin off as randomly as they can go. The whole point of the rehearsals for him, as I understand it, is to really map everything out, stress test the script (which he will rewrite, yes), put everyone on the same page, and lay a foundation beneath his actors that they can refer back to throughout shooting. I'm just interested to hear a lot more about this.
Anyone know where it plans to shoot? NY? LA? __________________

I'd guess at NY. Aronofsky likes to shoot there when he can.
Don't know though. Maybe here... darrenaronofsky what is this? #locationscout __________________

Definitely NYC. Jen's never been in a film set in NYC, right? |

Yeah, I thought it be NY. Now she doesn't have to spend all her off time flying to NY. Cause she'll already be there. She can come down to PA now on her days off.

I love that title.
So it doesn't shoot for another 2 months then. __________________

I'm wondering if they do indeed have a title that they're just keeping to themselves for now, or if they haven't actually given this thing a name yet?
Fun Facts: The Fountain was originally called 'Last Man', and Black Swan started life as 'The Understudy'. __________________

It may just have a title. It seems strange for it to not have any name. Given the name changes of his other films, it might just be a working title at this point, that's not a public thing yet.
Maybe it's "The Uninvited". Matches the description. |

There's something scratching around in the back of my head saying that PI originally had a different name too....
Anyway... 'Uninvited' (lets discard the'The') is a pretty solid title, though perhaps a little prosaic. Of course, that can have its advantages. I'm just curious about whether there's any particular reason they're not divulging the title? Perhaps they simply haven't settled on one yet, or perhaps there's some deeper significance? I suppose we'll find out in due course... __________________
