Matthew was one of the DA cornerstones, imo. The story lost its way a little bit without him. I wonder if, someday, JF would ever tell us what kinds of things he planned in his head for Matthew x Mary, if Dan had not chosen to leave. I'm so curious.

Very true. The whole point of Patrick dying and them finding Matthew was for him to continue on at D.A. and Robert handing him the reins when he dies. It's kind of pointless now since George is still too young to inherit. And it would've been nice to see him as a father. I wish Dan could've stayed even for just another season and then leave.

JF probably did a lot of convincing on his part but obviously Dan has made up his mind.

Also among his slate of films set to be released this year is Night At the Museum 3 which will see him showcase his comedic skills as Lancelot opposite Ben Stiller, Ricky Gervais and Owen Wilson.
