Lady Rose MacClare

(Born in Autumn 1902[2]) is the youngest child of Hugh and Susan MacClare, the niece of Agatha and Louisa, the younger sister of James and Annabelle, the sister-in-law of Annabelle's husband and the great-niece of Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham. In Autumn 1920, she visits Downton Abbey and stays with Violet in the Dower House.

Lily James

James was born Lily Chloe Ninette Thomson in Esher, Surrey, England. She began her education at Arts Educational School in Tring and subsequently went on to study acting at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, graduating in 2010.

Lily played the role of Katrina in Play House alongside Obi Abili and Marijka, and in Definitely the Bahamas alongside Ian Gelder and Kate Fahy. This is a double bill written and directed by Martin Crimp at the Orange Tree Theatre in Richmond as part of their fortieth anniversary.

Her other theatre credits include Desdemona in Daniel Evans production of Othello at the Crucible Sheffield, alongside Dominic West and Clarke Peters and Ella and Taylor in Vernon God Little at the Young Vic Theatre in a production of Tanya Ronda's stage adaptation of DBC Pierre's Booker Prize-winning novel Vernon God Little directed by Rufus Norris. Most recently she starred as Nina in a modern adaptation of The Seagull at Southwark Playhouse.

Lily starred in Fast Girls, the 2012 movie directed by Noel Clarke centered around a group of young female athletes competing in the World Championships. Previous to this, James played the role of Korrina in Warner Brothers the Wrath of the Titans, where she appeared alongside Sam Worthington, Rosamund Pike, Toby Kebbell, Bill Nighy, Ralph Fiennes, and Liam Neeson.

Her television credits include Poppy in the fourth season of ITV's Secret Diary of a Call Girl starring Billie Piper, the BBC production of Richmal Crompton's Just William with Daniel Roche and the third and fourth season of popular British series Downton Abbey.

In April 2013, James was cast as the title character in a live-action re-imagining of Walt Disney's Cinderella.

So how did everyone like the turn of events for Rose in the CS? I'm glad her relationship with Lord Sinderby is good now after she saved him from embarrassment. Lord Sinderby will forever be indebted to Rose because of that.

Yeah, he wasn't exactly the warmest person, but at least he can appreciate now what a good daughter in law he's got in Rose, although I still think she's too good for boring old Atticus. I wonder if they'll be back in S6.

The more I see them together, the more I'm actually fine with Rose & Atticus. She looks to be really trying for his family to like her (especially Lord Sinderby) and I guess my neutral feelings towards Atticus is because we got him too quick and no real character development.

Yes, that's my feeling about him too, very bland, and with all the character development in the world, I still don't think I'd find him very interesting.

Yes, I just sort of wish Rose would've ended up with someone a bit more exciting and daring (like her). But hopefully Atticus will prove us wrong!

Yeah, his character definitely needs more developing. He just suddenly came in the show and next thing we know, he's asking for Rose's hand in marriage.
