The cast performed a staged reading in costume after having less than 24 hours to learn their lines and memorise stage directions, with Tamsin Greig - who played the role of Mrs Ralston - relieved she hadn't misplaced any of the play's many props: "Can you imagine if I had put them in the wrong place, and not hidden them away?!"

Hugh Bonneville added, "Tonight was the 25,000th performance and tomorrow will be the 25,000th professional performance, so that is pretty special. I'm very proud to be part of such a great legacy. I think she (Christie) has given work to all of us over the years."

Okay, we can use some of his quotes from S3. How about this (but it's too long): "I have given my life to Downton, I was born here and I hope to die here. It is my third parent and fourth child. Do I care about it? Yes, I do care!"

Or a Hugh quote (on a much lighter note because that one was dramatic): "I’m not like him at all, other than I’m 6’2 and drop-dead gorgeous." - saw this on Tumblr and was from a podcast that I have yet to hear. I'm trying to find a link but can't find one for now.

I'm so conflicted, because I love HB but I hate Robert most of the time. He treats Edith like crap, ruined her wedding, was a total classist bastard toward Tom, never apologized to Sybil for not attending her wedding or treating her husband badly, badgered Tom (who was newly widowed and grieving) about his Catholicism. He's just a pointless ass.

Maybe he does want what's best for his family, but he's terrible at actually doing what's best for them.

But yes, I love HB.

Please remember that this thread is also for the appreciation of the character of Robert Crawley. Constructive criticism isn't saying that the character is a pointless ass given all those negative reasons.
