Since I've been seeing so many FF recs on the S/T thread, I thought I'd start a Fan Fiction Thread.

I've tried reading some (mostly on LJ) but unfortunately, didn't live up to my expectations so ever since then I've been afraid of reading D.A. fics. I hope someone can recommend to me a really good one soon.

I haven't read too many on LJ, so I can't comment one way or another. However, there are quite a few good ones on FF.net, esp. if you get to know the authors. The good ones tend to consistently come up with excellent stories. Sometimes I'll use the number of reviews divided by the number of chapters as a gauge. Anything with more than five reviews/chapter is worth a look. Some of the really good ones have 10-15 reviews/chapter.

Do you have a particular pairing in mind? I can make suggestions if you can provide a pairing.

That's the strange thing about what I read on LJ. It did get lots of reviews but maybe it was me, I didn't like it that much.

I would love to read what happened in-between any of the episodes, some missed stories that are free to the imagination. I prefer one that isn't AU too and implied pairings are alright but no UC couples please.

Thanks for starting this thread. I use to read and write fan fiction (mostly for CSI & Gilmore Girls).

I've been reading Preferred Stock too! :-) Although I'm not a fan of modern AU I am enjoying it.

My favourite DA ff author is Silvestria, anything written by her is excellent. Mostly M/M.

That's great that you used to write FF. I find I need certain conditions to inspire me to write.

Isn't Preferred Stock great? I loved her Never Such Innocence Again and I don't usually read M/M FFs.

Silvestra is excellent as well. I've been following University Challenge since the beginning.

I've only heard good things about EOlivet's FFs.

I haven't read Never such an innocence again but I shall try then!

Silvestria's University Challenge is lovely, but my favourite story is Consolation Price (Lindsay, I recommend those 2 in particular, but all of her works are worth reading)

EOlivet and Orangeshipper are also good.

Sybil/Tom and Mary/Matthew are obviously the more promiment stories, but I wonder if there are any good Anna/Bates ff!

I was a huge A/B fan after S1, but the only one that captured my imagination was the one I'd rec'd above.

There was another one that was and ensemble one that was posted daily just before S2 that was heavily A/B that I liked. Will have to try to find it.

Thank you thank you SO much. Will definitely read those this weekend. I'm scared. Like I said, I didn't enjoy the ones I read on LJ. I felt they were either too fluffy or AU already.
