Enora 9. fiveby10eighty3 Daisy Robinson Daisy is the kitchen maid at Downton and is Mrs. Patmore’s helper in all things. She not only helps cook the meals but also sets up all the fires in the house. She is bubbly and cheerful despite the fact she spends most of her time getting yelled at by Mrs. Patmore. In season 1 Daisy was oblivious to William’s affection for her earlier on since she only had eyes for Thomas. She becomes more aware of William’s feelings as the season progressed but she denied having any feelings for him. When the fair came to town she ended up going with Thomas and saying some very hurtful words to William that he doesn’t forgive too easily. When Thomas convinces Daisy to lie to Carson about a stolen bottle of wine, which Thomas was trying to frame Bates for stealing. Daisy ends up feeling guilty and confesses that she did not see Bates take anything. After that Daisy begins to get closer to William again, feeling bad for the way she treated him. In the third episode of season 1 Daisy mistakenly witness’s Lady Mary, Lady Cora, and Anna dragging Kemal Pamuk’s body across the house. She keeps what she saw a secret until O’Brien gets Lady Edith to talk her into telling her exactly what she saw. In season 2 Daisy finds her accidently in a relationship, which leads to an engagement, with William, even though she still doesn’t have any romantic feelings for him. She tries to tell him many times but Mrs. Patmore pressures her into seeing the engagement through. When William gets hurt she reluctantly agrees to marry him, since it’s his final wish to be able to get the government funds for being a soldier’s widow. After William dies Daisy continues to feel guilty and refuses to spend any of the money that she is given. When William’s father wants to keep in touch with her she refuses because she feels like she would just have to be dishonest to him as well. In the end she does see him, at William’s grave site. Sophie McShera Sophie McShera was born 1985 in Holme Wood, Bradford, Yorkshire. At an early age she moved to Eccleshill, also in Bradford, where she attended St Joseph’s College. Out of school she attended the Footsteps Theatre School before getting her stage break at the age of twelve in comedy The Goodbye Girl. She followed this up with a stint on tour with Annie before completing her GCSEs and A-levels and going to Brunel University, London, where she achieved a degree in drama. McShera’s television career started after university in 2007 with very minor roles in the soap operas Emmerdale and Doctors and the drama Survivors in 2008. In 2009 she gained her next part, a more substantial one, on the BBC school drama Waterloo Road. She played intelligent A-level student Ros McCain for the entirety of the fifth series before leaving the show due to Ros leaving the school. Her agents, London based Curtis Brown, describe her voice quality as ‘bright’ and her voice character as ‘natural’. Previous threads: [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] __________________

You're welcome. I can't think of a recent quote to use for the thread title.
Love this photo from the SAGs. __________________

Do you think William ever tried to make a move on Daisy after he proposed to her? Like when he and Matthew returned after being missing? We don't know how long they stayed at Downton until returning to the battlefield, and William might have been afraid that they might not be so lucky next time and didn't want to die a virgin.
Plus, they were engaged for about a year before William died. Who knows how many times he returned to Downton for leave in that space of time. |

I don't think he did. He respects her a lot.
Finally. __________________

I find it odd seeing Lily fixing Sophie's wardrobe in that still.

It's silly alright. It's not a show for everyone but I have to admit, I actually enjoyed it.

Yeah me too! I don't take it seriously and that's why I enjoyed it?
