Mary was snarky to Edith in the C/S, but I put that to her being pregnant. Now that Matthew is gone, I'm sure that more will happen.

I just hope that Edith will meet a young fellow that doesn't have any baggage. I know that it will be hard especially with her very judgmental family but she has beaten the odds with Strallan (the family wasn't fond of him too) so I know she can find that special one soon.

I don't think Edith understands what Mary is trying to tell her, without telling her. Lets analyse the man that Edith has been "in love with":
Patrick - He was unavailable because he was pledged to Mary and Patrick himself apparently would not go against his father and Robert. The farm guy - He was already married to another woman so she shouldn't have started anything with him. Patrick the fake - The guy had no proofs that he was the real Patrick but still she went after him. Strallan - Too old and with insecure issues, not enough confidence to be her partner. Michael Gregson - He is married and in the eyes of the law and the society she will always "the other" and any possible children will be considered bastards. At the end of the day Mary is right, Edith doesn't love these man she loves the IDEA of being loved back and i truly believe that is what Mary is trying to HINT to Edith in a very snarky way. Anyone who wishes too see Edith and Michael start a relationship cannot possibly love the girl because they are asking her to give up everything to become a pariah and to submit her future children to ridicule. If Michael was a widow then everything would be different but sadly he isn't. __________________
Rupert hardly speaks. You're lucky to get anything out of him these days, he just has a wicked sense of humor and he's very eccentric and very unique in the way that he does things. He's like a big kid. I feel like he'll never grow up, which I love. |
