Hi everyone,

I have been thinking about this and I feel that it may be time to close this board. Our post counts have been declining over the past few months and we have very few regular posters. As you know, Fan Forum requires that we average at least 15 posts per day, with lower numbers then that leading to warnings and then possible closure of the board. I would prefer to go out under our own terms rather than be forced to close due to low post counts.

Please let me know what you think. I would be glad to hear any suggestions or advice to renew interest here. Remember that to keep the board going, we need the commitment of a few regular, dedicated posters. As much as we love this board, please do not just post to "save" the board and then disappear again, because we will be in the same position that we are in now if you do.

As you all hopefully have noticed there is currently a moderator opening thread up so if there is anyone who is interested in moderating this board please apply. I have asked for it to be extended so that hopefully will be done soon. While I had decided it may be time for me to step down from this board I will continue to be a moderator here if it is decided that this board will stay around but no one applies. I do not want to see this board close, I just find it hard when Adele is such a private person and the only music we have had released is 'Skyfall'. But I would rather stick around and see what happens if that is what the majority wants. Adele and this board still has a very large piece of my heart.

Opening this thread must've been hard

Adele not releasing anything and not having any discussion going on for quite some time now, has made it really hard to keep this board alive and to remain an active poster. I wish I could say I think anything is going to change, but sadly I don't. We have no idea when Adele is going to release music, for all we know it could be another year. Not having any new music is one thing, but her previous albums (or anything else) isn't being discussed either. As much as I love Adele and this board, I think we've done the best we could and the only option left is to close the board. I can't even remember what it was like when the board was active and we had lots of discussion going on, and I think that's really sad. That's just my opinion.

Aurora . I know how hard it is to make this decision & if I'm honest it stays with you, but sometimes it is for the best. Adele is a private person, there's no proof she's even working on more music, & there's only so long you can talk about the same things over & over. I was one of the MSTs here when the board was first opened & I can remember how busy it was. There were pages of posts & lots of posters. All of that is completely gone now & unfortunately since there's no music to look forward to chances are most have just moved on from fangirling over Adele. It is a shame, & I know how that is as I've seen it happen on other boards. There's always that hope that new music will bring in new posters & bring some back but you've been waiting & sometimes the hope goes away

If there was anything to say she was releasing music any time soon I'd say keep going, but since there isn't I think you may be right. Don't want to lose another music board & chances are after you close you'll get news/music (see Katy Perry & Lady Gaga) but unfortunately it possibly is time to move on

That would be so sad, but it doesn't look like new music will be released any time soon, as every article says she's taking her time with the album. No one knows what is going to happen unfortunately, all we can do is look at the current situation. We've been patient and we've fought to keep the board open, but at some point I think enough is enough, as much as that hurts

Aw, it would be so sad to see this board close, especially since we have so few music boards to begin with. But you guys are right, it doesn't look like Adele is going to release new music anytime soon so it might be time to stop fighting.

That being said, if you do decide to keep the board open, I will be here, I'll support whatever decision you make. You have been doing a great job with the board so far, Aurora, and it must have been hard to start this topic.

Opening this thread is hard. I hate it and I have had a lot of time to think about it and prepare for it. I knew it was a possibility before the mod opening was put up. In saying all of that I do feel it is for the best. If there is no one who is willing to give it a chance to keep fighting then I am not sure what more I have to give. It is hard to fight for something when we get nothing in return and what this board had at the start or even after that has slowly been disappearing and it makes it harder to fight. Adele gives us nothing and we have no proof that she is even working on the album. I do not want to close this board, it is just hard and hurts. It hurts me either way though so if we want to keep fighting and waiting then I will try that way.

Chelle I may have bad luck but that is not even working anymore. It did before but I have lost hope in that. However if that is the case then good I finally have new music . (I will just lurk on your boards and celebrate it instead.)

Pretty much. We're not like actors, we can't garantee that they'll be doing a project every year and that sucks but it's still understandable;

^ I agree with that, I find it really sad that there are so little music boards on and that some of them already closed. With this being sad, it doesn't look like it will be easy to keep this board alive, and I'm sorry for that. But yeah, Adele is a very private person and I understand how tiring it is to discuss the same things over and over again, without having anything new for ages.

If you decide to keep the board open, I'll bookmark it and try to stop by more often. But you should do what you feel it's the best, and if that's closing the board, then that's understandable too. And you've definitly done a lot for this board Rae, I think you should be proud of it.

On a side note, I will really miss this customization, it's one of my favorites.

And if they disappear completely it becomes even harder . I am sure celebrity boards have hard times too and low periods but it is highly unlikely for an artist to release new music every year and a few of them have gone on breaks and disappeared from the spotlight. Somehow a few of those boards have made it through and I have absolutely no idea how they did it, they all amaze me. As do the moderators of those boards. It is possible that a part of me is just giving up and if I keep fighting it will be amazing when Adele does release music again but it is still so very hard when there is nothing for so long.

Catia I really appreciate what you said . You give me some hope but to be honest what I feel is best for me is not what I feel is best for the board which has left me with a tug-a-war with myself for the past few months. Ultimately I came to this but I do not want to close the board it just feels hopeless. But there is now two saying maybe so maybe we could give it another chance and wait a little longer .

That is the problem I think, other artists who don't release new music still have other projects, they attend events, are active on social media, etc... Adele doesn't do any of that. Delta took 5 years to release a new album, but she was still touring, recording songs with other artists for their albums, giving interviews about what to expect from the album, etc.. there was always something to discuss even if it wasn't new music

David has been doing all these things too, so although his previous album came out 4 years ago, it's still fairly easy to keep the board going.

Uhm, I'm really fine with having this on the GT board.

And Rae. I do agree with what's being said, I completely understand that it's hard to keep a board alive without getting new stuff at all. When I was modding My Mad Fat Diary, we only had 2 season with 12 episodes each to discuss (and s2 wasn't sadly that great), and after a while we just kept going circles and circles with the discussion. And we had no idea if the show was getting a new season at all, which is how you are with Adele as well.

She's so talented, I definitely think she'll make more music again. I just wish we had a date for that, even if it was just somewhere in 2016. :') It would make everything easier.

I appreciate all that has been said and everyone who has stopped by to help keep this board going for this long, even if it was simply to help me out. Thank you to the wonderful posters, past and present . I love you all even if you stopped posting before I started posting. You all made this board an amazing place and with great sadness it is now time to say goodbye to it.

Aww Aurora I'm so sorry I know how much this board means to you and how hard you've fought to keep it open. I honestly do believe it's for the best though.
