Actually, I think his dad will get out of jail almost immediately, and then be angry with Thayer for betraying him. Why would Alec immediately conclude that Thayer was in on his arrest? But he did, the first thing Alec said when he was arrested was directed at Thayer, "Did you know about this?"
Thayer might go back to LA just to get away from his dad's anger! And Rebecca might tell Sutton to go too, to keep an eye on Thayer, keep the twins apart, while she continues with the plan!!!

Yes, and we might get to know Rebecca! If she is as she seems so far, she is too much like Sutton, deceitful and manipulative. I don't see how Emma could like her. But maybe we've only seen that through her interactions with Sutton. Maybe she would turn out to be nicer when dealing with Emma? But honest? IDK . Do you think they will let Emma in on the secret now?

I don't think so. I don't know what Rebecca and Sutton are planning, but my theory is that Sutton is planning to tear Ethan & Emma apart for good. So I don't think they'll tell Emma about it!

Well, they are obviously going to go the Thayer/Emma/Ethan route for a while, so no Thayer and Sutton taking off for LA,

But, we'll see how Sutton interferes with that triangle. Maybe in both directions. Do you think Sutton will try to get rid of Emma so she can be the center of the triangle?

Sutton will definitely not like Emma being the center of the triangle and getting all the attention, so I could imagine Sutton trying to get rid of Emma!

I like the idea of Thayer & Sutton going back to LA together! Unfortunately, I don't think that's going to happen for awhile. But it'll be interesting to see what direction the writers are planning to take these two.

I'm still finding the whole idea of Thayer falling for Emma to be ridiculous. He always takes Sutton's side of an argument, even if he feels bad about going against Emma. He kept saying Emma was trying to prove his dad was guilty, while he was trying to prove him innocent. It was Emma who was objective and said she was just looking for the truth. Thayer isn't really that into honesty, and he is kind of ruthless like his dad. Why he feels like Emma is the bright spot in this is beyond me. She was just anxious and depressed that whole time, trying to clear Ethan.

The writers are just coming up with lines/ways to get the triangle between Thayer/Emma/Ethan going. There's no need for it really... Makes no sense to me either.

Right! We need to rewrite the script without the stupid uncharacteristic drama!
Thayer won't be telling Emma that she is nothing one day, and that she isn't going to slap anyone the next, and then tell her SHE is the bright spot! No. He will instead tell Sutton that she gives him the strength to get through this. And that together they will solve all the puzzles.

I'm just logical. I am following through on the writers characterizations to this point. Like you said, they are going through contortions trying to write in any Emma/Thayer interest.
