Questions/Theories #1: One season just wasn't enough to satisfy our curiosity!
Can anyone tell me why Addie, in the pilot, was standing in front of murder house in the 70's, while the house is vacant? I know their family lived there later, but why was she out there as a small child? And why would her family move her in to that house later on when she obviously knew people died in there, as she warned the twin boys? Makes no sense to me. Unless I am missing something, that is a big weird plot hole.

That's a pretty good question, actually. That scene happened in 1978, so let's see.
My guess is that the Langdons lived in the neighborhood at the time, and Addie was out wandering around. Constance doesn't seem like the type to keep a close eye on her kids. I don't know how Addie would be aware of the fact that people had died in there, unless she had already been seeing ghosts on the property, and somehow knew, instinctively, that they were specters and that there was something seriously evil lurking in the building (little kids always seem to be aware of things adults aren't in movies and television), or unless the Langdons had been living in the neighborhood for a long enough time to know about all the deaths that had happened in the house, and she had heard about them. They're living in the house five years later, in 1983. I think the Langdons probably didn't care that people had died in there. I don't think Constance even knew ghosts existed before moving into the house, so I doubt it mattered to her. She said the house "made her a believer". But we're never actually given an answer to this in the show, so this is all conjecture. This show has other plot holes, too (not major ones, just little ones that really bug me). I'm kind of hoping that when the DVDs are released they come with deleted scenes. Maybe some of them will answer our questions. __________________

Hey and welcome to Im Sheida
That's a really good question, I agree with some of the points Kathryn made, a random thought also popped into my head, maybe this infamous fourth child we havent seen but weve heard about died in that house sometime in those few years and when Constance saw the ghost thats why they moved in? Its a longshot but that unknown child is constantly bugging me! Also, since like Kathryn said there are other plot lines/ theories to discuss I changed the name of the thread to make this into a place to discuss all of them and not just Addie __________________

I was hoping the twins who died in the pilot would of had more to do with the show.
The opening scene is what really got me. Even though Addie was a little creepy in it. I remember thinking when a creepy girl tells you not to go in a house, then don't go in. __________________

Oh this is a great idea for a thread!
I never thought about that Addie thing, maybe they were moving into the house? And that's why she was there Has anyone picked up any clues that were given to decipher where the next season will take place, or what the theme of it is? |

Awesome question I wonder that same thing why addie was there .. And why she felt so connected to the house ? I thought it was maybe cause of Tate but he died afterwards so that's no it ... For next season fans think it's a lake which is cool __________________

A lake house would be really cool. I remember hearing about an apartment, but I don't like that idea. Just the idea of neighbors living behind the wall is weird.
I have another question. What ever happened to the family's dog? I remember the dog in the first episode, but after that..did I miss something? Did it go down into the basement and just disappear? |

I don't know where I read it but I read that season 2 might be on a college campus in Boston. That would be very interesting because when I was in college everyone there heard some kind or rumour or urban legend. Some of the seniors even told the freshmen that the burgers are made out of cat meat.
A lake would be cool too but I was very disappointed by "Bag of Bones". Maybe the lake's name is Crystal Lake? We meet a young Mrs Voorhees and little Jason. Why wasn't there a scene between Tate and his dad? Did Constance move a way from Murder House? Would Tate care to know his son? Would Violet ever forgive Tate? Was Thaddeus an old Frankeinstein Monster or just another ghost? It was implied that he ate, right? So he must have been alive. Does Dr Montgomery remind anyone else of Mr C Montomery Burns? |

Still I think it's weird Tate never got to see his sad when he was alive. It's weird that his dad never tried to talk to him. __________________

It is super weird that Hugo never once tried to talk to Tate. Constance tried to talk to Tate all the time! Why wasn't there a confrontation with Hugo and Constance? Infidelity shouldn't be a death sentence. Raping the maid might warrant that.
Even if Hugo was a terrible husband and a rather despicable man, doesn't mean he was a bad father. A person can be good and bad. Just look at Tate. Equal parts wonderful and horrible. Or maybe Hugo couldn't handle his kids being different? I don't know. So many questions. So few season 1's. |

Yeah, I've been wondering. Does Tate even know his father is dead and is in the house with him? I mean, he tells Ben what he thinks happened to his father - that he up and left their family after discovering Constance cheating on him. But we know what really happened. Obviously, that's probably the lie Constance told him - that his father left. But was Tate just bull****ting again - basically lying about what happened to his father, even after he had already discovered the truth? Or does he really still think that's what happened? And Tate tells Ben that Constance used to cheat on her husband with "the guy next door", who we know now can't be Larry, since she got involved with him long after Hugo died. So was Tate telling tales or was that true and she cheated on Hugo?
You'd think he'd figure out his dad is in the house at some point. I mean, when he was alive, his dad probably didn't show himself, but after Tate died, you'd think he'd find out. I guess Hugo could just make himself scarce. I got the impression that Hugo wasn't a good father. Constance implies that he used to abuse her. I mean, just because he was abusing her doesn't mean he also abused his kids, but I guess I just thought he seemed like one of those people who was more interested in cheating on his wife than he was in parenting. But we don't have any proof of that, so that might just be me. Moira must know Hugo's in the house, though, so would she tell Tate the truth? Speaking of Moira, I'm wondering about her relationship with Tate. I mean, she probably knew him when he was a kid, because she was the maid when he was six, and she was probably the maid for the Harveys too, so she probably saw him around when he moved back in with Constance in 1994. And she helped him cover up the murders of Chad and Patrick. But she always speaks poorly of him when he's not around. She calls him a "little psycho" and she thinks Violet's taste in men is "hardly refined" because she was dating him. It's interesting. __________________
