Plec says that Bonnie's storyline for this season is her favourite. That Bonnie goes from spending time with someone she doesn't really like (Damon) to being trapped with a psychopath (Kai) to being completely isolated. This causes her to reflect on herself and her actions. Plec then talks about how Bonnie has always been the sacrificial type, always jumping in to save her friends, but when she returns she's going to change. She's going to start putting herself first - and she will be vocal about this.

Yep this has been out for a while...but still it makes me wanna see this breakdown they keep telling about,and I want that to be a milestone in Bonnie's life,and somehow to realize how much her life really matters,and that she played the saviour for far too long.

I have a hard time believing Bonnie will finally say enough is enough. Unless her friends (not all of them, but at least one person) support her revelation, there's really no point in her coming to terms with the way she is. Because we all know, she'll be back to giving up her life if one of them needs her help.
