FLASHBACKS TO NADIA’S SEARCH FOR KATHERINE - While Nadia (guest star Olga Fonda) remembers her centuries-long search for her mother, Stefan (Paul Wesley), Caroline (Candice Accola) and Matt (Zach Roerig) come up with a desperate new plan to save Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) life. For the second time, Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) must turn to Liv (guest star Penelope Mitchell) for help. Damon baits Tyler (Michael Trevino) into a nasty confrontation, then takes off to seek revenge on Dr. Wes (guest star Rick Cosnett). Caroline and Tyler come to a new understanding. Finally, Bonnie learns of a terrifying secret that will threaten the lives of all her friends. The episode was directed by Lance Anderson.

Some people are expecting that because of the weird way the extra worded it, but she never said Damon and Bonnie go to the Ball together. Someone asked what Bonnie was doing at the Ball (since she's with Jeremy) and the extra said she didn't know, but Bonnie goes there alone. Then someone asked if Damon also goes to the Ball alone and she said yes, he goes alone with Bonnie. I think she meant to say *like* Bonnie because it doesn't make sense for them for them to go alone and go together.

If Bonnie sacrifices her life for Elena again, then I think I may be done with her. The selfless doormat thing can only go on for so long before I have to give up on the hope that Bonnie has any self worth.

Jewelstone, I agree with you. If that kind of mess happens yet again, I think I'm done with this show as well.

Kathrin, Elena is probably dormant in her own body, I would assume, but who knows?

I have no idea what's going on with Elena. I think the traveler said that Elena would be gone forever, but does that mean she's on the other side or just permanently dormant?

It's just so stupid that everyone was waiting around for Katherine to die, but then they all leave without waiting for her to pass through Bonnie. This has to be the worst gang of idiots ever.

But why wouldn't Bonnie say that Katherine didn't go through her? Unless Elena did.... but wouldn't Elena tell Bonnie it was her and not Katherine?

But Elena was still in control at times in the last episode and the ghosts usually pass through Bonnie within a few hours of their death. None of this makes any sense, it's just more vacuous writing.

This is where I am. I still can't believe that they went through all of the trouble to make Tessa and Amara have a history and yet! don't capitalize on it with Bonnie and Elena? No animosity...nothing. I guess things are about to go back to the way they were with Elena being annoyed with Caroline and Bonnie in the middle.

Especially because if it was Elena she would say that to Bonnie before she passes through her.

I think she is somehow dormant in her own body ... but I don't know how the group will figure this out. I'm actually shocked that the writers would go that far and erase their protagonist completely. Yeah we had the sirebond crap but this is a whole new level of crap.
