i don't get it. their scenes seem like a repeat of episode past?

lisztomania, I guess they have to deal with the repercussion of Jack finding the left-behind tape, so Nolan isn't letting go of the Jack incident just yet and he's giving Emanda a hard time about it again like the in the last episode.

For once, I'm not on Nolan's side of things, at least for that particular scene. His "you've done enough damage" and his tone with Emanda left a bad taste in my mouth. This is the first time we've ever seen her rattled and upset...he didn't have to rub it in.

I also don't understand why Nolan is so particularly protective of Jack. It seems like, if it came down to it, Nolan would choose Jack over Emanda (which is also why the scene bothers me). I understand that Jack is an innocent bystander in all of this, but Nolan acts as if Jack has been such a great friend, when IMO Jack is merely tolerating Nolan and, I doubt, thinks much of him at all. Whereas, Emanda has been slowly opening up and trusting Nolan.

The above was my immediate reaction when I first saw the sneak peek and why I wanted to get all of you guys' opinion. What do you all think?

After thinking about it, I guess the good parts of the scene were
(a) Emanda going to Nolan to tell him what happened and talk out her worries even though she knew he would say "I told you so."
(b) Nolan volunteering to go and get the tape back...although it's more for Jack's sake than hers, I hope that Nolan is at least wanting to minimize the exposure of details that have to do with Emanda's plans.

i get why'd they'd be protective of jack. he's an innocent (cue massive eyeroll from me) but i don't get why nolan seems to be giving emanda **** about it. and you're right, i'm usually in nolan's side of things but he's being very judgmental and condescending lately and that's the one trait i find very off-putting in characters and was one of the biggest reasons why i didn't like jack very much.

Agreed. I hate judgmental characters and Nolan has been showing it slightly lately, but hopefully we won't have too much of that. I just don't get his love for Jack. Jack's been an ass to Nolan. I mean Nolan basically gave him the money to be able to stay in business and has been there as a friend and Jack sees him only as someone anyone or whatever. Amanda is the only one who actually seems to see Nolan as a true friend!! And sure Jack is innocent in all of this, but Emanda knows this and doesn't need Nolan to rub it in. No matter what I'll always love them, because theirs is a great relationship, with loads of potential and amazing chemistry, but for once I'm not really on Nolan's side of things!!
