I have to be honest!
I will always love them in their earlier episodes. They were so beautiful there, but I'm not sure if I can support them together 100% again after Emmett cheated on her

Cheating is so wrong and there will always be in the background if they get back together, and if they get back together Emmett has to do something really amazing for Bay and that they talk about everything that happened.
To leave everything out in the open! And make sure it won't ever happen again. Then maybe I will start rooting for them like I did before!

I understand this sentiment. It's so difficult watching a couple you loved get destroyed and in the most cliche and uncreative way ever. I still ship them, but I understand how people are remaining cautious and until they see the new season. You don't want to get invested if they are only going to be trashed later.

Emmett does need to do something amazing, but he also needs to be more open and honest. He needs to be vulnerable and let her in, because I feel like he shut her out a lot and decided to handle things "on his own" and well, look where that got him. He needs to realize there is a big difference in being weak and letting your partner help you with difficult situations, but I have a feeling Emmett relied on himself for so long and didn't really share that much that Bay coming into his life and being so willing to be his rock was kind of a shock for him and he didn't know how to handle it. Now he knows, and as the song goes "Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got till it's gone." It will take this, him losing Bay, to wake him up.

And in turn, Bay will slowly learn to trust him again and they'll take this journey together. She too will need to be open with him about her fears. I think there could be a bit of hesitation on her part once they reunite to not voice her concerns or insecurities all the time, but she will have to. I'm sure there will be points when because of life getting in the way, he doesn't answer a text or two and under normal circumstances, that doesn't send up any red flags. but when you've been cheated on, it's likely that dreaded feeling will come up again. I'm not saying throughout their entire relationship, but I would expect it to for a while. Hopefully Emmett will be patient enough to answer all of her questions without getting frustrated and not make her feel bad for doubting him when he's the one who placed that doubt in her head. But this is just all my opinion.

I really do hope I will start rooting for them again when SAB returns and that it will take a long build up with them before they are back together...

My problem with the idea of a long build up is I hate when shows delay things for seasons to come, and I don't know how much of a lifespan SAB has. TV today is not the same as it was ten or twenty years ago. I think a lot of networks get trigger finger happy when it comes to canceling shows, and for me, Bay and Emmett never getting to that place because they want to spread it out forever and that results in the show getting canceled it would feel so wrong. I hate that.

On the other hand, you don't want it to feel rushed.

It's hard to find that happy medium. Ideally I'd like them to be in a good place by the finale and then the (hopeful) S2 can have them work on their issues together. Bay forgiving him is not the same as her trusting him. Forgiveness and trust are separate. Forgiveness is sometimes found a lot quicker than trust, but I don't think they need to be apart during that stage. Emmett should work with Bay to get her to trust him again by being more open and honest and understanding if she gets jealous or paranoid, because he set it into motion and can't expect her not to feel anxious.
