And as we have discussed, I don't think we'll be able to keep this board alive much longer. If Switched at Birth was coming back this summer, or even in September, I would hold on and keep posting. But I doubt that any of us have the stamina to make it to January. It's probably just a matter of time before we close, and it would have been so nice if we could have held on for the last 10 episodes.

That would have meant a lot to me.

Freeform shouldn't have treated the show this way.

The Fosters is airing tomorrow night, and Switched at Birth should be airing with it.

Well, all of my enthusiasm was for naught. What an unfortunate let down of a season. I am disappointed Bay & Emmett did not end up together, but that's not it. The problem is that I do not see meaning any place else. I am an intelligent, thoughtful person who has put a lot of time and heart into looking for meaning on this TV series, and I am left holding onto nothing.

I will always be grateful to Switched at Birth for opening my eyes to Deaf Culture and for giving me back that feeling of falling in love for the first time. They did that beautifully in the first two seasons. I wish that the writers could have landed their finale. They needed to go deeper in the last three seasons, as deep as they did in the first two. For some reason, the writers stayed shallow. I will still always love their tale of first love, though. It is beautiful.

Ratings for Long Live Love, the Final Episode of Switched at Birth:

On Tuesday, April 11, 2017, Freeform featured the season finale of THE FOSTERS (up 0.04 to 0.30), and the 90-minute season finale of SWITCHED AT BIRTH (down 0.01 to 0.19).

0.19 Ouch! The writers definitely needed to dig deeper, if they wanted to keep an audience.
