Tftnt. 4b will prob be very hard for us. But I hope there will be a few good scenes that show us they still have a connection and love for each other.

As more people tune in via tablets and phones, the ratings for all shows reflect that.

To me, it seems like ratings took a significant drop after the dance episode in Season 3. I don't believe that episode caused the ratings to drop, though. I believe that fans were frustrated with Season 3 overall, because it seemed to lack direction.

Those first ten episodes with Tank, Campbell, and Jorge were difficult for me to watch. That mini-season ended on an incredible note, with Bay & Emmett making love. And ratings were up slightly for that one episode, but they seemed to drop again after Angelo died.

I feel that some fans abandoned the show because it was difficult to watch Daphne's downward spiral and to see Bay & Emmett continue to hurt each other.

I also feel like many new fans find the show on Netflix and Bay & Emmett are a huge pull for them. I'm guessing that it is less torturous to watch their love story when you can immediately move to the next episode.

For those of us waiting for Bay & Emmett to make love after they broke up at prom in March of 2012, it felt like forever before they finally did make love in March of 2014.

We waited one episode at a time, week by week and endured months of hiatus.

From the moment Bay & Emmett met, I wanted them to make love and to be happy together. Waiting for two years felt like a slow death at times.

For some reason, though, I am feeling insanely optimistic about Bay & Emmett now.

Thanks. i didn't realized ratings were at their lowest of the series for those last 3 episodes of 4a. I was looking through the title names for 4b and episode 14 is called "We Mourn, We Weep, We Love Again". I hope that episode focuses on Bay and Emmett.

3a definitely did lack clear focus. Daphne's dumb love triangle tookup so much screen time and then her and Campbell only dated for like 1 episode. So pointless. Bays hand injury also didn't go anywhere. Was that just to get her with tank? Idk it was weird that nothing else came from it.

Yeah, Bay & Emmett parted in the rainstorm and many fans checked out.

I could almost hear the collective sigh saying, "I'm done."

A handful came back for the season finale, enough to get the show back up above one million viewers again, but not by much.

Although Season 4A is absolutely beautiful and well-written, I believe many fans are weary of Bay & Emmett drama.

Bay & Emmett's breakup on the beach is gorgeous in so many ways. Aesthetically, it really is. But it is also incredibly painful for fans like me who really love them.

Luckily, I can detach and observe the episode as a work of art. I am thrilled by it, on that level. But if I could not do that, it might be too painful for me to continue watching.

I do feel like fans will be back. I hope they will. My intuition is telling me the longer hiatus was a GOOD thing. Fans needed some extra time to heal.

I do like that Bay & Emmett seem to represent the idea that love can survive anything, everything.

Some fans cannot enjoy their relationship because cheating was involved from the very beginning. That doesn't bother me, though. To me, if a relationship cannot survive that, then it isn't meant to last a lifetime.

Which is fine, too. Not all relationships are meant to be forever. I just happen to believe that Bay & Emmett are meant to be forever, and I love watching them.

I feel like ratings would be higher now, if we had seen a mini-season of pure Bay & Emmett bliss, before things started to fall apart for them in Season 3B.

I feel like their breakup now would be more poignant, too, if we had seen their bliss before things ended on the beach.

Since we did NOT ever see that bliss, I really hope we get a full season of it, when they finally reunite.

Yes. Yes. Yes.

And Sharee's dropped storyline with her mother's mental illness was weird.

Kathryn & John's marriage woes were miraculously healed by a dance.

All of this buildup between Daphne, Jorge, and Campbell, and I am unable to perceive any meaning from that story. I have honestly tried, and I have no idea what the writers are saying about Daphne's character or those two relationships.

And Bay's serious hand injury is just dropped, as if it was nothing?

Matthew's catfishing dropped after the first couple of episodes of Season 3B, and we never do see him come to terms with his sexuality.

Angelo's financial woes with the restaurant, during Season 3A, serves only to be his final failure in life in Season 3B. I sort of like that final note for Angelo, though. It feels honest and true to life.

I suppose Regina's East Riverside woes (throughout Season 3A and 3B) did wrap up satisfactorily in Season 4A. But it's weird how Wes just disappeared and how Regina went from interior design consultant to coffee house diva overnight. I guess love can do that for you.

I do feel like bringing Tank back for Bay's story in Season 4A gives his role in Season 3A so much more depth. That decision makes me appreciate Season 3A a bit more.

Bay's time with Tank now changes Bay & Emmett's story, and I am always invested, when Bay & Emmett are involved.

Sometimes it almost feels like whoever brainstormed the story ideas for Season 3A must have left the series, and so all of the remaining writers just decided to drop all of those stories, when that person left. It feels that abrupt.

Maybe the writers simply ended up not liking their story ideas, as Season 3A unfolded and dropped them all for that reason. I don't know. I wish I did understand.

If there was one thing 3a that really should have had a logger arc it was j&ks marital problems. Or, they should come back again. Even harder. I don't remember anything about Regina in 3a. Or 3b. Nothing about reginas story interests me anymore.

I just feel as though (even if they didn't realize it) the writers setup Bay & Emmett's story from Day One. And continued along with it. They've always had obstacles in their way (the switch for one). It's an ongoing theme in their relationship. The minute Melody told Emmett the statistics of Deaf/Hearing couples, I went "Oh, they're going to defy those odds. When Emmett said, "We're not getting married," I went, "Oh, you will."

I suppose they could be going for the angle that even if you're not with someone, the love never dies.

But, I don't know. I feel that's almost too sensational for SAB.

Maybe not.

The writing for them is literally on the wall though! I wonder if we'll ever get a scene, maybe if they do a time jump, where Bay hasn't been back to the timeline and neither has Emmett and they both find themselves there. Bay looks at him and says, "You never changed it." A beat. Emmett looks back at her. "I couldn't." Bay smiles at him, "I'm really glad you didn't."

And.....then we wake up because when would LW ever do something like that.

Their story has been since day 1. I remember back in season 1 there was a LW interview where she said they had to keep throwing obstacles at them to see if they really had true love. Which is pretty standard for most TV couples because happy true love is "boring" so there must be conflict. I just can't believe that they'd spend 4 seasons writing this love story and throw all these obstacles and hardships at them for them not to get their happy ending.

I need them to get their happy ending.

I do believe the writers realized it though. I believe every single move has been expertly crafted from the very beginning. Right down to Emmett saying, "I don't cheat" in Dogs Playing Poker and cheating fifteen episodes later, in Game On.

I do believe the Tank storyline may not have been certain, when he was originally brought on board, but if it was not, then it certainly was serendipity (or synchronicity) in the way that Tank's first evening with Bay involved 1) saving her from a night of drunken sex, with one of his fraternity brothers, after a painful breakup with Ty and 2) a promise that she will have a million more chances to experience other drunken hook ups in college and have it not mean anything.

And even later in Bay & Tank's relationship, when he pressured her for sex, it served as the perfect precursor foreshadowing what was to come.

And all of that's not even to mention that Bay & Emmett's second relationship begins with an act of her choosing to cheat on Tank with Emmett, and ends with Tank believing Bay is choosing to cheat on Emmett with him.

I feel like Angelo's death was foreshadowed, too, when Bay believes he is being deported and tells Regina:

"It's not fair. I just met him and now they're taking him away from me. He's never gonna be at my graduation. He's never gonna be at my wedding. I feel like I'm never gonna see him again."

Yep, definite foreshadowing if you ask me.

I believe these writers have everything planned. Like for instance, in Season 1, when Bay goes to a nightclub with Regina to meet Angelo for a planned visitation, and Angelo says that he used to be jealous of this musician named Zane, and then, next season, Regina turns to Zane when she is drowning her sorrows over Angelo's love baby with Lana.

It feels as though it is all so well orchestrated.

I wonder about that, too.

With these writers, it feels like it could go either way. It feels like either story could be beautiful.

I don't know.

I've imagined a scene like that.

For some reason, though, every time I try to picture it happening, I see Daphne in an orange vest.

The good news is that Daphne is FINALLY paying for all of her crimes.

The bad news is that Daphne is ordered to paint over Bay's timeline.

And who knows, Daphne may even take some perverse pleasure in obliterating the promise of "forever" that Emmett made to Bay.

Perhaps Daphne even smiles, like she does at the police station, when Bay walks away to take the fall for her crimes.

And then, a day later, Bay and Emmett both arrive, within moments of each other, but seeing as the wall is now blank, each departs before becoming aware of the other's presence.

And Bay & Emmett's love is once again foiled by Daphne.

But then, I remember that this scenario would require Daphne having to pay for her crimes, and I realize THAT will never happen.

Daphne will need to find another way to thwart Bay & Emmett's love. Daphne warned Bay in the Season 1A finale that she is "not giving up on Emmett."

Is that what's going on here?

I jest. I guess. But Daphne sure has been a thorn in Bay & Emmett's side, since the moment Bay & Emmett first gave into their attraction for each other.

Sometimes I wonder if it is a coincidence that both Daphne and Devil begin with a D.

I do feel that the only way the writers can redeem Daphne in my eyes is for Daphne to make some sort of huge sacrifice to bring Bay & Emmett back together again.

Daphne owes Bay & Emmett. She owes them more than a quickie trip to LA to tell Emmett to talk to Bay. She owes them a lot more than that, in my opinion.

Very true. I also felt the Angelo line was foreshadowing in some way that he wasn't going to be around.

So hopefully Bay & Emmett follow that pattern.

Speaking of Daphne, remember Emmett's line when they were talking about Liam?

"He'll always belong to Bay."

To be honest, maybe I would respect the writers more if it was this plot from the beginning of Daphne's to steal everything (everyone) that "belonged" to Bay. Kind of like how you see the Tank/Bay story now Amy, if I thought Daphne had even back then had this dark interior who was planning on wrecking everything for Bay, then at least I could say, okay, you planned it.

I wonder what Daphne could even do to save Bay/Emmett. Or if she even would do anything.

I don't think we will be seeing her do anything. She's not obligated to meddle and I'm sure neither bay nor Emmett wants her involved in their business. Idk what she could even do. But I'd like her more if there was something
