Yep, it does seem they were set on B/A, even from the pilot I think the early seasons of shows, is the best opportunity to explore different couples
They were many other interesting couples they could have explored, B/V being the main and best one

Before the series started I was very eager for them to get together. I kept thinking, "Buffy Summers with Richard from Lost? Yes please!" I was enraptured in fangirl shipper ideas and potential.

Once the series actually started, the love of the ship didn't go away. I would smile insanely just seeing them talking to each other.

I wanted more flashbacks to him prepping her and being the one to keep her safe in that Double Nickel motel.

I loved the way she evaded him in New York and the look he would give her, knowing that she was keeping secrets and flat out lying to his face. She was a mystery that he was going to unravel.

I was exactly the same before the show started I was dying to see Buffy and Richard together
And their chemistry with each other, made me so happy

I wish we had got more flashbacks of them too I would have adored to see when they first met and how he looked after her before the trial

He was definitely intrigued by her You could see his fascination when he looked at her

I love that she got to see him through the eyes of an ex-stripper recovering drug abuser and as a respected wealthy wife and stepmother. She basically got to have to first impressions with him.

He put so much energy into keeping her safe, finding her, getting the truth out of her. He became obsessed with her. He put all of his eggs in one basket. Years of investigation and long nights and so much passion and stress rode on the testimony of this one woman.

I would've been such a fan girl if we just got a few scenes of them lying on that motel bed watching old reruns or ordering Pay-per-view. Seeing him put his gun on the bedside table. She'd make her sexual remarks that she was so fond of back then because it was the only way she knew how.

She was all he focused on Everything he did was about her and finding her She seemed to encompass his whole life and his search for her seemed to be for more than just professional reasons

I would have loved that soo much To see them normal with each other and enjoying each others company
They did seem to have a very easy comaradarie with each other They had such cute banter and chemistry
