The Witch {Emma Booth | Mother Gothel} #1

Mother Gothel finally made her first and last appearance during season 7 of Once Upon a Time. Not much is known about her character's history or motives at the moment, but she is connected to Wish Hook and of course, plays a part in Rapunzel and Lady Tremaine story. She is searching for The Guardian, and we're not sure what her intentions are at the moment.

Alice is her daughter via Wish Hook.

Magical Abilities

Blood Magic - Use of one's own or another's blood for various and more powerful spells.
Protection Spells - Ability to cast a magical seal that makes the victim trapped unless they manage to leave someone of the same bloodline in their place.
Witchcraft - Ability to cast spells and/or curses.
Shapeshifting - Ability to alter the appearance of oneself or others.
Teleportation - Ability to magically teleport oneself and/or others from one location to another.

I know Gothel is a controversial character but what fascinates me about her is what we don't know about who she is. I'm especially interested if Alice herself knows who Gothel is. I don't expect that Gothel is redeemable after all the evil things she's done, but Once always surprises me when it comes to that.

I am very interested in seeing her backstory. Why is she after The Guardian? Did she always have magic? Was she a good person once? What are her true motives? What does she want? I feel there's so much we don't know about her, and I want to know more.

I'm not condoning what she did to Wish Hook, but what we little we know of her, reminds me of the mystery around who Rumple was in season one when we were just getting to know him. There are layers there.

Yes thank you for the thread.I think Mother Gothel could be the next big villian after Black Fairy and i think in the last episodes we will learn her motives why she is after The Guradian

We haven't seen her the last couple episodes. Did she go into hiding until the witch killer got caught?
