Strangely enough, I was thinking of this pairing long before the S3 premiere. I was thinking of it more along the lines of how I didn't want Neal to be with Emma, but I didn't want him to be alone. It was actually nice to see Mulan and Neal interact because you can actually see the similarities between the two. They both love someone and remained silent because of their fear of rejection. I never thought of that until I saw the episode. I'm not yet totally sold on them as a pairing, but I definitely find them interesting.
