In a Camelot flashback, a chance encounter with Merlin, David, Hook and Belle gives Merida new hope in her quest to save her brothers from the usurping clans of DunBroch. Unwilling to leave anything up to fate, Merida brings Belle along on a dangerous journey that culminates with an invaluable lesson in bravery. In Storybrooke, Regina, Mary Margaret and David discover the spell that would allow one of Merlin’s chosen to communicate with him, but when Arthur fails to reach the missing sorcerer the heroes grow suspicious. Meanwhile, Emma commands Merida to kill Belle in hopes of forcing Mr. Gold’s heroic transformation. With Merida unable to disobey Emma’s orders, Gold must find the courage to fight for Belle’s life or risk losing her forever.

“Once Upon a Time” stars Ginnifer Goodwin as Snow White/Mary Margaret, Jennifer Morrison as Emma Swan, Lana Parrilla as the Evil Queen/Regina, Josh Dallas as Prince Charming/David, Emilie de Ravin as Belle, Colin O’Donoghue as Hook, Jared S. Gosh with each week, Emma's atrocities seem to get worse, and her family's attempts to save her from evil seem more desperate and futile. There's a tipping point where it will become less a matter of saving Emma's soul, and more of stopping her at all costs. Trying to murder Belle, would be close to that point.

So now Rumple is a hero, who used to be a Dark One, so he is destined to defeat the Dark One who used to be a hero. I'll believe it when I see it. It's gonna be awesome to see how the ascended and the fallen square off though! Oh my gosh Merida is so much epic I can't even! And finally, Goodness gracious alive, they were dumb enough to leave Arthur alone with the "dial up Merlin" shroom? I don't know if it's the best thing that I was so underwhelmed by our core heroes and was more excited by the new faces, but that's where we are.

Great episode and I loved Meridia and Belle's adventure! I also loved Rumple's verbal smack down to Emma that dark swan! I do wonder what she wants with Zelena though. The only thing it needed was a Rumbelle kiss.

Don't refer to characters by insulting names like "bitch", please. Critisicing their actions is fine, but please leave out the insults. Thanks!

I am happy Rumple and Belle got to really, really talk, and didn't rush into things - and that Rumple has that chance now to start over and do everything right. But the rest of the episode was too much Merida and not enough main cast for me.
