So I watched the ending for like the sixth time

Two things I noticed. When the darkness began entering Emma, the music REALLY got low,and took a omnious tone

secondly.... Emma was crying out in pain!

Um yeah so as far as this universe goes, The Darkness latching on to Emma means the apocolypse. Quite simply Emma has to defeat The Darkness or it kills her. Even if her parents and Killian manage to keep her actions in check with the dagger, someone or something will die. This is the greatest uncorruptible good battling the greatest corrupting evil. Read any mythology or religious text. Read all of them! What we have now, is the end of the story. If it takes years, if it takes a day the world is permanently changed. After all I can't imagine our Savior letting The Darkness carry on infecting people even if she must go down with it. There will never be higher stakes.

I would say yes as well esp if the plan was also to bring back Maleficent from season 1. So they kinda knew what they were going to do with Mal and so on. I mean her having a kid and the darkness i guess

Well I knew this would happen as I got spoiled, so it wasn't a surprise at all for me...I'm sort of atm, just seeing how it goes in S5. thinking will her light magic have any effect on being the DO

Her light magic will have a affect, thats not going anywhere imo. And she wont be a DO like Rumple.


She looked at Hook and her parents last... and also told them, they can get the darkness out of her again something like that. Camera panned to Hook as she looked at him whilst scarificing herself and then her parents.

I know that part, I'm just a bit hmm about this part, I mean it just depends what the writers do with this...

Yeah, depends on what the writers will show with Emma and how she is when we get to season 5. Maybe even have clue in interview they will do over the summer

Comic con should be able to give us a sneak peek and what the cast think and happen. By then they would of started filming and have overview where season 5 is going to go

Did Emma's eyes change or what? I mean....they kept zooming in on her face all slow-mo and stuff...were we supposed to notice something?

In the last scene? I don't think so. I think they were just trying to show her looking at her loved ones one last time before the darkness took her.

The Darkness won't be able to completely overwhelm Emma, but I do think we should expect her to be very different the next time we see her in both personality and appearance.

BTW, I realized something kind of interesting: both of the previous Dark Ones we've seen were played by great "character actors" in Brad Dourif and Robert Carlyle, whereas J-Mo is more of a "straight-man"-type actor... which has me really wondering how she'll play things as the DO relative to the way she's played regular Emma.

@Bookworm and T'Lynn: Yes, Emma's eyes did change; they went almost completely dark as the DO spirit overtook her. You could also tell she was screaming.
