I think Mystery Man is still the most fun for us

Somehow I don't want to know his identity - the land of whale mystery is still too awesome

And here's some new funny stuff (I will post some stuff for the OP later Jac, so we can give Whaley a little bit more credit

-Feels persecuted and misunderstood-paranoid

I would like to be added please I love this guy lol and Davy Jones does fit the bill or better yet maybe Whale is... Captain Jack Sparrow!!!

I seriously hope Whale is Red/Ruby's true love I can see them getting into some funny shananigans.

On a serious and funny note I really hope he goes Doctor Who on us and ends his episode with the line(geared toward all the characters and the audience) "Who am I? Fella's your never going to stop asking that question."

Well, seeing that he is still all "Womanizer" like - even when he is aware of his "true" self now - I doubt he is someone like Peter Pan or any other boyish character. I think his counterpart must really be in love with himself and be all "Well, I'm such a great catch" like

What "Womanizer" Fairytale charas are there?.. I don't have a clue about Dr Frankenstein's women though

Robin comes to mind if you ask me being fool of himself at least maybe he acts like a douche to hide is pain or what ever.

The thing is: he always knew who he was! (we don't know but HE does). He wasn't cursed. He as to be someone who left FTL BEFORE the curse, because he could leave SB (he wasn't inside the town in the beginning of the season). I believe he is the outside contact of Mr. Gold, the person who got Henry for Regina to adopt. But who he is?!?! There's nothing about Dr Whale leaving town. He's always been in SB. The curse affect him like it did everyone else. I don't think he was faking the shock on his face at the end of the 'A Land Without Magic'.

That the episode where they reveal his identity if scheduled for the weekend before Halloween makes me think he's going to be Dr Frankenstein or someone similar. Maybe he's Frankenstein's Monster! He does keep chasing women, and the Monster kept asking the Dr for a wife...

Have to agree - what? He was always affected by the curse - just like the rest. He remembered his true self when Emma broke the curse in the season finale.
So, maybe you were watching another show then?

@Jior I've thought about that too, especially since people on tumblr were commenting on new set pics. But personally I'd find it a sad thing for him to be the monster. And Dr Frankenstein isn't on my fave list either - but that's more cause of it not being on the classic fairytale train (and more on the Horror side like "Jekyll&Hyde").

I'm sorry but the first episode of season two starts in what I believe to be New york (it is definitely not SB) -. Isn't the guy who receives the note, taken by the pigeon, saying "broken" Dr. Whale?
