Emma's knows what it's like to give a child up, wanting them to have their best chance, only for that child to come back lonely, unhappy, and feeling unloved. Yeah. Considering how close the two have gotten I'm sure it would hurt both of them- it would hurt Emma for bringing said pain to her mother and it would hurt Snow because she would feel guilty for what Emma had to grow up with.

Still though to quote Snow, "The truth can be painful but it can also be cathartic." and that's how I would see a scene like that play out for them

That should be mostly about Emma's past with Neal. Emma will tell the truth about Henry's father anyway and maybe her confession will come earlier than Neal's arrival.

Well, that's what I learnt from Pretty Little Liars -- "the longer I keep the secret, the bigger the lie." It would put her into a passive position where she has to unwillingly admit it if Neal actually came and found her. I think either Snow or Charming would bring it up in the episode with Neal's return.

Yeah makes sense.

It would be better if they knew before hand and before his actual arrival so it won't throw them off guard.

But then again imagine the drama that would come of it if it turned out to be the opposite
