I kept waiting for Aurora (actually, did they call her Aurora anywhere in the show? Is that her mother's name?) to kiss him and try to bring him back - or Mulan to say why it wouldn't work.
My probably crazy idea for why they stayed is that Malificent somehow protected this corner - and that Aurora's curse was somehow part of that protection (since the conversation with Regina strongly implied Mal was over her own need for revenge). There was a story I read once where Sleeping Beauty's curse was actually part of a magical protection - the world stays safe while she's dreaming of it. I'm thinking something similar. The curse on Sleeping Beauty was meant to keep part of the world protected and changeless till she's released from the curse. Maleficent, knowing what Regina was planning, modified her curse on Aurora. So long as she slept - or until the curse was broken - the part of the world effected by Aurora's curse couldn't be absorbed into SB. Maleficent, being particularly targeted by Regina - and maybe because she'd never been meant to be drawn into Sleeping Beauty's curse - and, ergo, couldn't be protected by it - still got drawn in. |

Yes, they said Aurora a couple times during the episode.
 Please add me!  Prince Phillip is my favorite Disney prince of all-time and I was so happy to see him on the show! Julian did a great job!  I haven't seen him in anything else (I don't watch PLL), but I liked him a lot!  I hope the feelings Mulan may or may not have for him don't last long and they'll bring in Chang for her soon! |
