Henry getting a centric was nice, but sadly, he didn't get a lot of focus outside of that.

Doubt Henry wanted to be left behind when he given the role of a author and with his family

She didn't send him. Both his mothers brought him along. There was no forcing happening in that last scene.

I think the idea that they wanted to get across in the deleted scene that they should have included was that if they left Henry behind he would just find another way to get to them and the other way might be dangerous. So better to bring him along where they can keep an eye on him.

I think it would have been better if that scene was kept in, yeah. And while I get why Emma (and Regina) let him come, it's certainly not a decision free from critisism, especially if something bad happens. Of course, this is a fantasy TV show, so Henry is basically going because the writers want him to be a part of the story.

The gif above is case in point. Emma is protecting Henry because of him getting frightened and that is in SB, what do you think it's going to like in UW
