EMMA AND MERLIN EMBARK ON A PERILOUS QUEST TO RETRIEVE PROMETHEUS’ FIRE FROM THE BIRTHPLACE OF DARK MAGIC

“Nimue” – In Camelot, Merlin spearheads a mission to reunite the dagger with Excalibur so he can use the weapon to save Emma from the darkness threatening her soul. With Zelena in tow, Hook, Mary Margaret, David, Regina and Robin steal into Arthur’s castle to take the broken sword from the maniacal king. Meanwhile, Merlin brings Emma along on a journey to confront his ancient nemesis and retrieve the sacred spark he’ll need to reforge Excalibur. Both parties are tested, but one suffers a blow that could derail the entire operation. In a flashback to long before the Age of Arthur, young Merlin finds purpose after he is blessed with magic and immortality, but when he falls in love with a young refugee named Nimue, everything changes for Merlin, as their romance starts a chain of events that touches every one of our present day heroes, on the ABC Television Network.


“Once Upon a Time” stars Ginnifer Goodwin as Snow White/Mary Margaret, Jennifer Morrison as Emma Swan, Lana Parrilla as the Evil Queen/Regina, Josh Dallas as Prince Charming/David, Emilie de Ravin as Belle, Colin O’Donoghue as Hook, Jared S. Gilmore as Henry Mills, Sean Maguire as Robin Hood, Rebecca Mader as the Wicked Witch/Zelena and Robert Carlyle as Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold.

It's funny. I find I have strong pictures in my head of what Nimue should look like. I was just realizing that whoever they have playing her is unlikely to look like her. It's crazy but it really bothers me.

The fact that she will probably not be anything like the Nimue of Arthurian legend (who was pretty variable anyway--mother-figure, seductress, true-love, teacher, student, you can make a case for all those and more) bothers me a lot less.

Ok, this maybe just me, but is the whole timeline screwy? I mean I thought Merlin was in that tree for a thousand years. And what is with the DO being created 200 years ago? Isn't Rumple 300 years old. By the dagger, there were countless DO's before Rumple. So what gives?

Well, now everyone really is screwed. Emma has all her own power, the power of the Dark One plus a complete Excalibur and the entire legion of Dark Ones are in her head but no Savior Emma anywhere in sight. Please explain to me how this is not the apocalypse.

Right and even though it said 1000 years before Arthur when Merlin got the Grail and he said it had been 500 years why did the graphics say 200? I'm chalking it up to a typo and it was supposed to be 500 years earlier not 200.

I’ve pretty much given up on trying to make sense of the timelines But I agree it definitely seemed a bit off.

-Merlin was great tonight and so was Jennifer Morrison, ESPECIALLY the “I’ve never been nothing scene.”
-Loved the Captain swan scene ....interesting ring parallel in this episode
-Was it just me or did the pacing seem a bit off tonight? ....I guess I just wanted to see more detail about things like why a sword and Merlin’s reasoning for everything else aside form him just listing what he did to Emma.
-i pretty much saw it coming a mile away that Nimue would be the Original Dark One....I know this episode had A LOT to go through, but since I feel we didn’t spend enough time with “good Nimue” I wasn’t particularly sad to see her go dark

Yeah, I kinda guessed it when he said , "You killed my Love" and got turned into a tree.

I do wonder why she is seeing Rumple. UP until tonight I was ok with it, but seeing all the other DO's...well it just didn't sit right with me.
