Some notes from 3x17 Commentary

This episode was intended to be a little bit of a breather episode after Neal’s death/Zelena and before raising level of intensity for the last episodes.

Hook is in love with Emma but he puts on a facade - Smee is the only one he can let his frustrations out on. He doesn’t feel like he belongs in Storybrooke but at the same time he won’t leave.

Colin nearly broke his foot and did break a door

He should rename The Jolly Roger “Emma”. ”The Jolly Swan” - Colin.

The scene where Emma falls and comes back up on a bridge was originally written with Emma coming up on a dragon she had created herself but they decided Emma’s magic was not quite there yet.

They would like to bring Blackbeard back.

Colin told JoAnna to “really go for it” when slapping him.

"Does she love him? Does she not?" - Colin on Emma’s face after Hook leaves MM’s apartment.

X

Some Notes from the 3x22 Commentary

Ginny was sat on a chair to film the new version of the net scene with Snow and Charming.

Jennifer and Colin really raised their characters to another level in the finale - everyone did.

When filming the Rumbelle wedding scene - the atmosphere on set would have made you believe they were really getting married.

Hook and Emma have had chemistry since they climbed the beanstalk together.
They wanted every character to have a cliffhanger in the finale.

Aurora is still pregnant and Philip “is just in the bathroom”.

They were amazed they were able to keep the final scene a secret but no cast or crew members got the scene in the script. Another scene was there but they hope to use this in the future so will not talk about it.

Thanks for that!

They certainly did a good job with cliff hangers!

I liked that they confirmed that Jr was supposed to be a breather from some of the complaints I read after the episode aired

Hook's episode are in a way - a breather, coz they follow his backstory away from the others partly

Also it was a good episode esp as it was suppose to make sense on Hook's past and the finale, the ship.

The Jolly Swan

And yes Hook is in love with Emma, and he would never leave her

I'm still heartbroken over Neal's death. I was a big Swanfire fan but I've come to really love Captain Swan. Especially the finale when Hook gave up the Jolly Roger for her I was like "kiss him!" That's love right there.

And it was so awesome seeing them at Comic Con this year. I even got to meet Jennifer at the autograph signing. She was so cool. All the cast was there, except for Colin because he was at another panel but it was still cool.

Welcome!

Glad you had a nice time at Comic-con. Looking forward to you joining in on the discussions.

It certainly felt like one. There were some moments that were a lot more lighthearted compared to the previous 2 episodes.

Yes, they focused on his character's struggles and it did affect the overarching story just not specifically WWW. I really liked it because it was character focused, was a breather from the high-stakes Zelena drama and frankly, I love watching sword fights!

But also this episode was heartbreaking too, coz you have Hook who in away is struggling and in love, and in pain and the things he was going though in that year gone, and choices he made

Yeah, I thought it was a good focus on a character study. Really hope they do more.

Its one of the main reasons i love Hook episodes, its the character study, looking back on his past, concertrate on him and the path he took and why... and how much it still is in his present and so on
