“Ill-Boding Patterns” – When Gideon resumes his mission to kill Emma and become the Savior, Mr. Gold steps in to ensure that the use of dark magic does not poison his son. Meanwhile, Robin proves willing to ally himself with anyone offering the possibility of escape from Regina and Storybrooke. Hook gathers the courage to come clean to Emma, but not before she discovers he’s been keeping a secret. I loved all the scenes with the Rumple family. But as much as I love Rumple, I do feel a little destressed at the re-writing of history.

General thoughts:
-REALLY did love Rumple in this episode. I love Rumple in general and think his love for his sons has always been obvious, but it was nice to see an episode that was, essentially, all about that. What they did with Bae seemed out of character, from what we've seen previously..seeing Baelfire be the one to encourage Rumple to kill while Rumple was resisting is heartbreaking and makes Rumple's subsequent loss of Bae even more heartbreaking
-Great Rumbelle scene at the end
-Disappointed but nor surprised that they're letting the Hook/Emma drama drag on instead of just having him tell her in this episode, as he intended...still, loved seeing Emma so happy to accept his proposal
-Beowulf...ugh, what a jerk

The Rumple enbraced the darkeness pretyy quickly. Having Bae be the bad guy (sort of) by ordering Rumple to kill, and then wanting him to embrace the darkness, is totally out of charactor.

totally retcon to make rumple look good but hey Bae/Neal and Gideon all cut from the same sheet. someone try to make them look good but in the end THEY ARE NOT.


also HELL YEAH CS is engaged and whatever happens next week, its all gonna be okay!

I didn't have a huge problem with what happened with Bae in the past. Yes it was surprising but considering Rumple gave him the potion to forget it's not that much of a stretch for me.

I liked the Rumple back story and present day story and I think it made sense. He's done horrible things but he's also done things that are horrible in the name of protecting the people he loves. I'm not excusing him. Just saying sometimes there are reasons.

As far as the retcon being done to make Rumple look good? That's the norm on this show and they've done it with some of the other "villains" in the main cast so it's not a big deal to me.

Way too little Belle. She should be front and center in this story.

The Regina/fake Robin/EQ/Zelena mess? Just. Make. It. Stop. The OQ fans deserve so much better than this.

And the Snowing sleeping curse is dragging on way too long.

And I thought Pan was bad. The Black Fairy sounds pure evil. And not a very nice grandmother.

Also, if she's "trapped" in another realm how was she able to steal Gideon in the first place?

I think she maybe able to leave for short periods of time. how else would she be able to steal children or be summoned by Rumple. i think she is trapped in the sense that cannot escape it but must always return there. it maybe the source of her dark powers.

The Baelfire stuff felt at odds with Rumple's comment in 1x19 about knowing August wasn't his son because his son would never use the dagger on him (or something in that vein). So that really didn't work for me. I just wish OUAT managed to do episodes to make a character look betetr without having to make another look worse.

No Snow and Charming, and the sleeping curse has dragged on way too long already. Sigh.

The proposal reminded me of when Rumple proposed to Belle while keeping something from her. It just gave me a sense of forboding more than anything.

I hate the Black Fairy. And not in a love to hate kind of way. I want Belle to get hold of magic for just five minutes and let loose on her.

I'm sure there's some kind of loophole about how she was able to steal Gideon. I'm not convinced the Blue Fairy wasn't in on it.
