I thought he was already pretty awesome and fierce when he got mad at Regina (although I love her to death). That was one hell of a scene.
But in the last episode?

Hilarious. I was almost choking when everyone was panicking and his biggest preoccupation was about nurses/fairies

I have seen people saying he could be Peter...I'm not sure though,shouldn't Peter be like a lot younger? Not that he is old,but still,you got it. Unless they're going to add some twist to the tale.

Since the original "Frankenstein" from 1931 (and "Bride of Frankenstein") has been filmed by the British director James Whale. Hint?

I'd definitely give my vote for Dr. Frankenstein.

Today I read a blog about that theory and it had some pretty strong points (I can't post any of them because most of them have spoilers).

I think he could be Dr. Frankenstein but I wonder how could they include him in one of the realms. Where Dr. Frankenstein could exist?

Surely anywhere? My memory is a little hazy on the details, but I don't recall any one place being particularly essential to the plot. It could have happened anywhere.

Then it has to be FTL. I can't see Dr. Frankenstein in Wonderland, Neverland or Oz.

Frankenstein (and things involving this tale) is one of the things I don't find fitting to OUAT. They have so much they can dig into (actually, there are so many tales and sagas and whatever outthere) that they wouldn't need to go down that lane. And then "Jekyll&Hyde" and "Dorian Gray" would be the next?
