The thing about alternate!Hook, at least as I understand it, is that he can't have a Happy Ending with his daughter until/unless something - or someone - else purifies his poisoned heart, and finding a romantic partner seems to be, based on the show's track record, to be the easiest path to that outcome, so he kind of has to find that kind of partnership with somebody who isn't Emma.

He needs to find her first, and then see what happens. She could be it to undo what has done to his heart or something (unless Emma did as she fixed his wound too). I guess with this show they use magic in any way so who knows whats going to happen.

I'll have to watch the episode again to be sure, but I'm 99.9% positive that alt!Hook says he can't find his daughter until he unpoisons his heart, so finding his daughter and counting on her to heal it is kind of not in the cards.
