Perhaps I should limit my question to this thread. What is Season Six about?

I'm not sure any of us can fully answer that question at this point, but my summation would be that it's about our characters facing truths about themselves and dealing with those truths. It's different for each character, Regina has to accept the evil part of herself, Hook has to face up to the bad things he's done, Emma is facing her own mortality, Belle is trying to protect her child, Rumple is trying to control their child, the Charmings are dealing with the past and the fact they keep having to defeat their enemies. The untold stories are present, but the main focus is on all the main characters. Plus the Saviour mythology is being addressed with the help of Aladdin and Jasmine.

But to fully answer this we need to see more of where this season is going, I think.

Is that all Emma has to face about herself? Her mortality? Why can't she face up to not wrapping her personal identity around being "the Savior"? Or face up to her own mistakes and crimes?

By the way, I hope that this season is more than what you're hinting. Because this strikes me as a bit thin for a main narrative.
