Congrats to them!!
I'm re-watching the series with my daughter, who is watching it for the first time. We watched "The Doctor" today. The part where Regina has to let Daniel go always makes me so sad. |

I hate this part and it is sadder now when we know she then lost Robin Hood too and it is like so many people could come back, but for Regina it is always lost forever.

The Doctor is an odd episode, I always had very mixed feelings about it. And not even because I expected it to end on a more hopeful note for this particular pairing since, back then, I actually still believed Adam and Eddy when they claimed that "dead is dead" on their show. But yeah, that rule certainly got watered down a lot over the years, which doesn't help when we think of what Regina's been through.
That scene with Jefferson, Whale and Rumple having a good laugh about how heartbroken and in tears they'd left Regina after their little charade, for example, left me wondering what exactly the writers were trying to achieve there. It definitely didn't endear anyone of the three to me, regardless of it being "just" a flashback. __________________

I don't think they ever established that she found out what they did (I'm currently re-watching season 2, so I'll be looking for that), but I always thought she did since she pulled Jefferson over from Wonderland for the curse and he had to watch his daughter from a distance for 28 years. She should have the same hatred for Whale though and he seemed to have a pretty decent cursed life, so IDK.

Probably too much to hope to see him in flashbacks again before the end.

I don't think we have any chance of that unfortunately.

I never realized until I'm rewatching Season 2, what happened with Daniel coming to live in SB. I didn't see that episode the first time. How heartbreaking.

^Beautiful!
It's heartbreaking that she had to go through that in season 2. __________________

Interesting. Thanks for that. It shows her fear of returning to that person for sure.

I think it also explains her next scene which was with the injured horse that she healed. I remember wondering at the time why a horse would be in the underworld. I think it was supposed to be her sign from Daniel, but since that part of the monologue was cut, at the time it seemed kinda random.
