Emma had trust issues because Neal left her and Neal was feeling guilty and gave up hope on a future with her out of the same reasons. It wasn't the right time for romance, but everything is different now.

Doubtful. Neither of them is a conversationalist. Emma might be pulling off her inquisitive facade when she's serious, but when the topic comes down to her life, she tends to skirt around it. You know how reluctant she was to talk about herself when Snow wanted to.

That was the old Emma back when she didn't trust anyone. They started to talk about the past when they were on the beach and I think it was very important for both of them. I hope they continue the conversation when they are reunited.
