Of course. But you don't always look you like you grew up feeling abandoned. She was finally out of the foster care system, so she was free.

I agree. I think she enjoyed her freedom and her new life. Neals "betrayal" was terrible for her, but I'm not sure it would hav had exactly the same effect if the other things hadn't happened before.

I agree. Feeling abandoned by her parents, the crappy foster homes, and Neal leaving all combined had a greater effect on her than just one of those situations would have.

It doesn't make much sense to me that she wasn't adopted. A healthy newborn baby should have had pretty good chances. You think someone made sure she wasn't?

Never thought about it. Maybe. It would be interesting if someone did. Maybe it truly was her destiny not to be adopted, meet Neal, have Henry, etc.

Destiny plays a huge part in this story. Emma was destined to be the hero, she was destined to meet Neal and to have Henry. So yes, maybe not being adopted was also her destiny.
