I think without Tamara (and the portal!) it would have taken Emma and Neal longer to admit that they're still in love with each other, but they would have gotten there eventually. Most likely Henry wouldn't have been kidnapped and August would still have his memory and could answer all the questions we have about how he knew Neals real identity and why he separated ST.

Oh yeah, there's no way Emma would have let her walls come down enough to tell him she loves him again without the portal. I never would have imagined in my wildest hopes and dreams there would be a love confession this past season. That's one reason to be grateful to the portal.
I can't wait for them to reunite. I wonder how Emma will act when she sees him again? Once she gets over the shock of him still being alive anyway. |

Yes, it's the only reason to be grateful for the portal and it could have worked out the same way if Charming had come by in time to help Emma pull Neal up....
