I think it's because I don't find it so difficult to be optimistic about things I don't really care about. Neals death was an exception. And it wasn't so much optimism as the simple fact that it didn't make any sense. It seemed like something a tv show wouldn't do. We had just seen the characters deal with Neals death. Emma and Rumple were far from being over it. Killing him off at this time, was an extremely odd choice.
